HGN put up his AAU stats:
Was in response to me finding his partial summer stats. He was doing well from 3 in AAU but then had a rough Peach Jam. FT% doesn’t give you warm fuzzies, but I in general thought his form looked good enough / quick enough.

That one video from the Fall in an all star game(I think) where he just looked like a man amongst children, I remember him hitting a few off the dribble in your face type of 3’s.
Actually not as dramatic as I made it sound. But the form looks good. Him at least being a guy who is going to hit when you leave him open is huge.
Yea man he improved tons from spring to end of summer this past year. Injury is terrble but he will be back
Just has to hit enough to be respected from there. McKneely and Traudt’s gravity will help everyone else get better looks and in theory, higher shooting percentages
Just wait til the staff changes his form!
JG+BVP play like 50 mpg. We need a transfer to soak up like 40-50% of those minutes and let Dunn/traudt/bond pick up the rest.
Gertrude is going to redshirt.
Low key … the injury has a good chance to make him a better shooter … one of the only things he can do before the knee is fully healed …
This kid looks unbelievable.
Jamie Shaw was like “Sorry for stirring the pot mid majors with your talented studs, Ill even things out by stirring the pot with former top 60 underclassmen at power 6 schools not playing much” lol
That’s kind of hilarious.
Would take this guy - really good HS program where I used to officiate their games … well coached.
Jahmai Mashack is a 6-foot-4 sophomore at Tennessee.
Bahaha Nova had 3 legit candidates to make this article (Hausen, Patterson, Njoku) and that’s even after Brizzi transferred.
Submitting a formal bid for Vin-Allen Lubin in Brey ND fallout
Nice couple of games last few gos. I remember HGN said Williford liked him a lot but the concern was his 3pt shooting wasn’t as good as it looked. I dont think he’s shot many if any 3s this season but the form does look good. Takes me back to watching his church league highlights lol.
Lubin next year, spending the offseason with wilkins, could give us that wilkins presence toughness inside. And who knows where the offensive game goes in the future.
Chris Bunch (now Chris Bell) and Ven Allen Lubin are probably higher floor guys with modest/possible pro ceilings. Ryan Dunn and Leon Bond are both a little raw but the ceiling is the roof.
Edit: a Bliss, McKneely, Bond, Lubin, Traudt lineup a few years from now would be fun.
From that list I’d love to add Tyrell Ward. Hasn’t had a great year production-wise and wouldn’t necessarily be a need, but he’s got a very high ceiling as a player and would be another cog in our #WingArmy vision.
I like Lubin, think he’d be a bit like JG offensively but with a higher ceiling as a defender. But again I wouldn’t classify his skillset as a ‘need’ for next year, would prefer to add a guy in the frontcourt with a pedigree as a rim protector.
@Hooandtrue Didn’t quite no where to put this (not really wishing for a transfer from him) but in thinking about bigs / project bigs, etc. just realized that one-time intriguing prospect Tafara Gapare is at UMass. UMass is having a pretty bad year under first year coach Frank Martin. He’s been averaging double digit minutes or so since conference play started.
Mouhamed Gueye is someone I wanted out of HS. And then I wanted last season when his name entered the transfer portal (he returned to Washington State instead).
Was one of the first non-uva recruits I started bugging @HoozGotNext about on this damn site years ago lol.
Mamadi big.
Shoots like and reminds me of Patrick Ewing!
Cormac Ryan as a grad transfer.
@Marktykobe get it done. @DFresh11 will hook you up you with the LRA bag. Ill put down $5.
(I feel like adding a veteran 3pt shooting wing is a bigger roster concern for next season than adding a front court piece)
