He’s not that bouncy/he can rise for a dunk but isn’t the rim protector/back to UVA roots 4 man they are probably looking for.
Huh, okay. I remember him giving Huff fits, but that may have been more physicality than bounce.
But look at him sky for this block! (kidding…) Yeah, he’s not as bouncy as I remember, but seems like a credible perimeter defender…
He’s the one who is friends with Reece right? I think he would be exactly in the target type of range for transfer 4s. Any springier/higher profile and they are getting $$$
Oh, yeah. Per this article:
Also looks like we offered him in HS
We went on him late after he decommited or something like that is what I recall
Thinking about the trajectory if we got Brakefield instead of JAR. I bet he would be a beast right now.
If he decides to transfer that could be so huge. I’m thinking he starts at the 4 with Dunn sixth man. Bond backup at the 3 etc. we’d have a lot of depth at the 4 and actually be able to play the packline or play Brakefield, Dunn and bond for a switching defense
He played us coming out of HS. Feigned interest until he got the dook offer. My distant memory was that he was a bit about Jaemyn and not team.
This game pissed me the eff off. Dook was down and we should have whooped up…Conversely the next year was when we did beat dook at their place so it was a redemption tour
I’ll forgive him visions of one and done in his head if he wants to come link up with Reece for one last ride next year and win a ton of games lol
His usage is real low and I don’t really trust the 3pt numbers given what he shoots from the FT line. I also might just be ready to get off the transfer train with that frontcourt spot given that we have Dunn, Bond, and Traudt that all might be best right now at the 4 and in need of minutes.
My ideal front court transfer is still whoever end up being the ivy league defensive player of the year. I believe we tried that last spring too but that kind ended up transfering to florida state (and then had a season ending injury following that. Not the Keion Brooks kid who also had a season ending injury… man FSU’s luck)
Fletcher (the other KY transfer) … against us. I remember it being ugly.
Thats right. Fletcher not Brooks
Reece
McKneely
Dunn
Cade Tyson
Drew Pember or DaRon Holmes
Dante
Cormac Ryan grad transfer for depth
Bond
Traudt
Buchanan and Gertrude both redshirt.
Also I just put two and two together.
At first, watching Cade Tyson highlights I was like “woah this kid is really good he plays like a better version of Hunter Tyson at Clemson”… Cade Tyson is literally just Hunter Tyson’s younger brother.
Fun fact: Cade Tyson is younger than TJ Power. So is Ryan Dunn.
Now thats a funny story
Possible bigs:
Josh Oduru
Drew Pember
DaRon Holmes
Other possibilities
Isaiah Cozart: Eastern Kentucky 6’7 blocking machine. Plays Liberty tomorrow in the ASUN semi-final. Grad Transfer
Amari Williams: Drexel. 6’10 forward from England with 2+ blocks a game along with 13.6 ppg and 8.8 rebounds a game. 2 years left
Branden Carlson: Utah forward with 1 year left. 16.1 ppgs, 7.3 rpg, 2.1 blocks a game
I also think we need one or two more shooters.
McKneely and Traudt are the only projected “shooters” to be on the roster next year, even with Dunn and Bond taking strides.
A grad transfer like Cormac Ryan makes a lot of sense, especially if Gertrude needs to redshirt next season anyways and Armaan doesn’t come back. And a project wing who can shoot 3s would be a welcome addition if Taine does decide to go somewhere for more playing time. What staff was going for with their Cameron Carr pursuit
The guy in the first post of this thread that started it all for me
No idea if he tests the draft or transfers somewhere for one more year. But a shooter. From the same high school as that Pryce Sandfort kid we recruited.
