Figurati! È stato un piacere!

And yes, we will definitely be enjoying some Barolo, Barbaresco, and Nebbiolo!

Is Trastevere still cool? After college, my wife took a trip there and stayed in lodgings that were part of a nunnery there/near there; the nuns made fun of her because she wasn’t going out at night like a hip young person would be expected to.

I don’t know how cool it is, because I am a decidedly uncool old man, but our food guide there, who grew up in Trastevere and was probably in her 40s, did feel like it was becoming a bit more upscale than it used to be. Still has a pretty different vibe than the other side of the river.

Italy is #1 on my bucket list of places I haven’t been and now I want to go more than ever. But maybe when my kids are a bit older. 7, 4 and 1.5 is hard to manage.

My first experience in Italy was as an 18 year old. I dated a German foreign exchange student and her family allowed her to take me on their summer vacation (either very European of them or very negligent of them - I still wonder which one).

We went to a resort town called Laguiglia where 75% of the tourists seemed to be German. I refer out to it now that I’m older (and somewhat more cultured) as the Myrtle Beach of the Italian Riviera for Germans (which is probably unfair - it was very nice).

I went back 8 or so years ago to fly into Milan and then drove up through Piedmont to the Dolomites. Really would love to spend more time in the countryside but excited for Rome!

If anyone wants my recommendations for conference rooms and convention centers in Rome… let me know. I’ve only been to Rome twice without it being for a stupid work-related reason.

No sorry. Dumb joke I keep perpetuating. Feel free to ignore me.

Always hit up Vegas for Spring Break with my buddy from Minneapolis (Wisc grad). I am a HS Librarian so I have spring break but it doesn’t coincide with my kids. So I usually do a solo camping/hiking trip before the Thursday in Vegas. This year I am camping in Joshua Tree. This place is incredible and the pics and words can’t describe it.

We took the kiddos through for a bit on the way home from California a couple years back. Joshua Tree is something else. Have fun.

Papagayo peninsula Costa Rica. Cool room. Had a coati drop on and steal a sandwich off the dining table couple nights ago. Think raccoon but cuter. Definitely a country worth the visit if you can swing it.
