Thanks to whoever brought this back up…

Thinking about going to Italy in July with my wife.

Naples → Sorrento → Rome

Any advice?

For those less culturally affluent than dudes like me and grills Papagayo means Parrot

Yep @CaptainThurman15 gave some pretty good advice to me for Rome. Happy to add to it. Jubilee year so get your tix early.

Will add that Cul-de-sac was our favorite lunch spot. Awesome wine list. Right by the Parthenon.

Also, go see Clement at Bazooka Menswear. Was the ultimate experience. Came away with some high end Italian threads at Jos A Bank prices.

I’m going to Seattle + Bainbridge Island next month for a wedding; won’t have tons of time but any food or activity recommendations on Bainbridge?

Love those little dudes

Very cool place. We hit it a couple years ago at this time of year. A little chilly and breezy, but remarkably un crowded.

One peculiarity, don’t know if you found it, was the site of an old hermit abode from the 1920’s and 30’s. There’s a big pile of rocks there where he passed the time inscribing his thoughts on life and politics. Some are inscrutable. Others are pretty straightforward.

I posted Rome stuff earlier as you can see. Never been to Sorrento, so you’re on your own there. But I do have some Naples advice.

But let me know what your plans are—length of time, things you like to do, and who’s going.

We did Rome in July a few years ago. Huge crowds! Vatican museum was a mass of humanity marching through the place. Plan accordingly. For a quick bite near the Coliseum try Pane & Vino. Hole in the wall with owner who can speak the language of each person that comes in the place. I still think about the porchetta sandwich!

Ah, the ever popular illicit picture of the Sistine Chapel!

What did your son think of the bone-art?

I go to all three for work… with Naples, do not go on an empty beach… might not come back off.

Have fun! Just got back from a family Spring Break in San Diego. Zoo, boats (USS Midway tour was fantastic), sea lions, fish tacos, drinks by the hotel pool, 75 and sunny every day.

Headed to New Orleans from Wednesday - Sunday.

Need: bar recs for watching March Madness, good lunch and breakfast spots, and good beer bars/breweries.

Staying a short walk from Magazine.

Thank you in advance.
