UNC board has entire post dedicated to how much McKoy sucks

I remember a pep-band performance at a football game where the clarinet players ran onto the field and two of them fell… split their instruments in two and then proceeded to walk around not being able to play… and then to top it all off, I don’t think they picked up the pieces that broke off… it was frenetic and weird all at the same time.

I always wondered how high the pep band members were at any given performance

These links are great. I had no idea our pep band was savage back in the day. I love it.

I believe my favorite Pep Band performance was “Ode to Reproduction”. You can imagine the marching formations (which actually left very little to the imagination).

Back in it’s day the peo band could put SNL to shame… They were awesome and they knew how to strike a nerve. If that was today they would probably lock them up because we can’t hurt nobody’s feelings now

My introduction to the pep band was when we’d go to football games, and my Dad was in grad school. Thought they were hilarious, but being like 10 at the time, I got the PG rated explanation on a few of the skits, since I didn’t understand some of it

You mean something like “Have you driven a Ford lately?” When McInnis was at the free throw line??

I would have to say that gets a “bye” due to cleverness and humor. Are my standards inconsistent? Yes. But it’s not a personal tragedy, it is more of a transgression for which some humiliation is in order.

If Michael Vick’s dog was run over by a car, that’s a tragedy and shouldn’t be teased. If Vick kills dogs, that’s a transgression and open game.
