I agree there is a major talent issue but why are we consistently having talent issues for 4 out of 5 years? Seems to me that indicates the scheme isn’t attractive to talented players. If your scheme needs multiple future NBA players to look halfway functional, might need to change the scheme. Both to help you in the less talented seasons and to make yourself more attractive to offensively talented players

Yea I meant at large haha

Look we still have talent….lets hope we beat the sht out of Georgia tech and win one in the acc…I think we get in and not have to be in Dayton….then we reset…most teams are just not used to our d….win one to two games in ncaa pretty nice …obv trying to be optimistic…not sugar coating this loss…it has potential to break us

Yeah probably not many, but how many 20+ win P5 teams have been in the 70s of Kenpom … we’re an enigma

We are spoiled. If we were being honest going into this season, this team was going to struggle. Too little returning. Now would I have done some different things this season personnel wise, yes. But the ceiling for this team was fixed. In the latest The Athletic article it basically says Reece came back to win a NCAA game. That’s all. That’s my goal now. I’m gonna cheer my a** off against GT, hope to win one first round ACC game, and hope to get Reece that win. CTB is stubborn but not a fool. Expect changes next year. I hope RD comes back. I expect guys to take things personally. We sometimes forget how competitive CTB is.

Rooting for ND to hold on so they stay out of quad 3 and for Cuse to win by enough so they jump to quad 2. GT already might jump up with their win today. Every little bit helps

Exactly! That Douche Dalen Cuff said that we aren’t passing the eye test and there is recency bias. Whoa whoa whoa! All the games are supposed to be equal- well atleast in the argument that they’ve used against the ACC about the improving of the teams most years towards the end of the season :thinking::thinking:

Agreed…we make the tournament with this team it’s one of tbs best coaching job….its not like we suck….but there’s a fair amount of talent in the acc…we are not 3rd best in talent

Definitely spoiled but I think it’s completely right for fans to be frustrated/angry/upset/whatever other negative emotion when you lose 15% of your games by 20+. Really the only fan bases that wouldn’t be angry are the ones who have given up and aren’t paying attention

We’ve taken for granted how nice it is to not be on the bubble since it’s only happened, really, twice in the last 11 years. Normally 21 wins would give me the warm and fuzzies in a ā€œdown year,ā€ but you can’t draw up a more frustrating way to get there. I still think we get in the tourney, by the skin of our teeth, and that’s all I really want. Probably doesn’t end pretty for us but you never know and I want that chance.

I’m glad we have the opportunity to play for something but I can’t help but feel deflated by our low ceiling and every game posing a potential blowout / embarrassingly low point total scenario. It’s exhausting. And I’m way more meh on the PT debates like others, but it is so frustrating to be a few games away from the season ending and have like zero clue if there’s even a core here to build on.

You’re staring down worst case scenarios with Rohde and Harris in terms of what they brought this year. And with the home grown players, we’ve seen 2 seeminfly future pieces in Gertrude and Bond fall out of the rotation and both have GIANT question marks about their games going into next year - assuming both will be on the roster because not we have to fret about that shit too in this day and age anytime someone rated semi decently out of HS doesn’t play. We have tons of questions and almost zero answers.

So we go into next year with lots of unknowns. Zero proven alphas, just a hodgepodge of ā€œpiecesā€ we hope can fit but very believably might not. Reece covered up a lot of warts that will require a lot more development than we’ve seen in years to overcome. I’m not willing to concede next year as a ā€œtotal rebuildā€ until I see how the offseason goes, but it’s likely trending that way and if that year involves Harris starting at point guard (likely) then I may turn into @Hooz123

Not even close. Almost any lineup you toss out theres gonna be at least 2 non factors on offense.

Dalen Cuff just said this is the first time UVA has been held under 50 5 times in ACC play since ā€˜36. Is there any way that’s true? In the no 3 point and UVA sucked era we never got held under 50 5 times in an ACC season?

Next year will either be the second-best comeback in program history or the start of an excruciating decline.

Texas A&M still a tourney team?
