can you imagine if we started reese, imac, elijah, groves and dunn. THat lineup could score⌠dunn could guard the 5 guy.
Only one way to find out
I think this is the overarching issue. And I know itâs been a joke but at the end of the day the ultimate issue is we have no DAWGS in the guard and wing spots. I think Bliss and Gertrude plays with an edge but otherwise everyone else on the projected roster next year will be someone who goes through the motions
Eli looks like a deer in headlightsâŚmaybe he is a dawg, but you can thank TB for crushing any confidence the kid had this year.
Iâm convinced Dante just does whatever the f he wantsâŚdoesnât listen to a damn thing the coaches say lol just run around and whatever happens happens. I cant believe tony lets this dude play
Great point. In their freshman year you absolutely saw the type of competitors Ty and Kyle were. I think there is some fire in Blake and Eli but itâs not at that level (but in Eliâs case the sample size is too small, he hasnât been out there in competitive minutes). But this team seem to be just too soft mentally. So am I going to be surprised if we now go 1-3 in the last four? Not really, because I think there is going to be a lot of pressure on that game in Boston and I wonder if they are going to have what it takes mentally. Itâs really going to fall on Reece. Hope he gets rested the next week cause this team is going to put ALOT on his shoulders the next two weeks.
Now kinda weirdly feel good about our chances Saturday. Break will be good for us, blowout will hopefully wake us up, JPJ will be rocking. Need to see fight or this season is toast
Fwiw Ty and Kyle came up in a culture with a foundation. It set the stage for how they played. Our current team doesnât have that as much. Itâs Reece, who has been a part of all kinds of teams with crazy roster turnover.
Well we can all look fforward to Dante Harris setting the foundation and leading the team next yearâŚ
Itâs a bad look for our players who missed all those shots for sure.
Losses by 34, 24, 23, 22, 19, 16, and 11.
We gave up a 27-2 run tonight. 27-2. To a mediocre at best team.
I donât understand how this team is so bad at being resilient when things start to snowball within a game. Itâs as if at the slightest bit of pressure, they just say âyeah, game overâ and pack it in.
Its also a bad look to scheme offensive sets with a lot of standing around, when often in the game every time we drove and forced the issue we scored.
Tonight is not only on the players.
Thereâs definitely a tipping point thing happening. Weâve had games where weâve been down 8-10 and chipped away.
but if we are down 8-10 and the next two possessions donât go our way ⌠buckle up.
Did anyone hear Tonyâs or playersâ post game comments? Curious what there is to say after a night like this.
Probably something along the lines of âreal disappointed with our effort tonight. Guys just have to get the fundamentals right, and the rest will come naturallyâ
looking back, Minors series of mediocre games the last few shouldâve been a harbinger of what was to come.
His play turned the tide against Tech in the first one. And the streak of wins.
wtf been happening with him? Maybe itâs just picking up 2 quick ones or Tony going to Blake too soon. Gotta get fixed.
Yea that tweet above shows it all. This program was built on toughness and was in virtually every game pre-pandemic. Since the pandemic weâve gotten blown out fairly regularly. Whatâs with the culture change? How do we get back to the âmen amongst boysâ days? Itâs not like that approach doesnât still have a place in college basketball. Houston being the shining example
Eli looks like what?
10 seed including the results of this game and beating BC and GT, losing to UNC and Duke.
Hell, first team out merely beating GT and losing the rest.
