3-0 HOOS after two. Didawick three-run HR to RCF is the only damage done so far.

HOOS now lead 6-2 heading into the 8th. Could’ve scored a couple more but the UNC LF made a nice diving catch to save some runs.

HOOS win 7-2 to take the weekend series and improve to 25-6 (9-5) on the season. UNC falls to 25-6 (10-4).

We’ll try for the sweep tomorrow at 1PM.

We’re about to get underway. Top of the 1st, RHP Kevin Jaxel starts on the mound for the HOOS. RF Anthony Donofrio to lead off for UNC.

  • Donofrio lines a base hit into RF. One on and nobody down for CF Vance Honeycutt.
  • Donofrio steals 2nd, throw was well on time but the tag was late. Runner on 2nd and nobody down now for Honeycutt, 2-1 count.
  • Honeycutt on a full count draws a walk. Ball was a wild pitch so Donofrio moves up a base, runners on the corners and nobody down for LF Casey Cook.
  • Honeycutt on the next pitch steals 2nd. 2nd and 3rd, nobody down now for Cook, 1-0 count.
  • Cook grounds a base hit up the middle under the glove of a diving Becker. Both runners score, 2-0 UNC. One on and nobody down for 1B Parks Harber.
  • Mound visit for UVA, DD out for a chat.
  • Harber hits a grounder in the hole between short and 3rd. Hanson misses it but GOF is able to snag it and throw on to 2nd for the force out. One on and one down for DH Alberto Osuna.
  • Osuna flies out to Saucke in RF. One on and two down for C Luke Stevenson.
  • Wild pitch moves Harber up a base. Runner on 2nd and two down now for Stevenson, 2-2 count.
  • Stevenson on a full count K’s (1) looking to end the frame.

Middle of the 1st, UNC leads 2-0.

  • GOF flies out to Donofrio in RF after a lengthy AB. One down for CF Bobby Whalen.
  • Whalen bounces out to Harber at 1st unassisted. Two down for RF Casey Saucke.
  • Saucke K’s swinging to end the inning.

Heading into the 2nd, UNC leads 2-0.

  • Van De Brake on the first pitch pops out to GOF on the middle of the infield. One down for 2B Alex Madera.
  • Madera grounds out to Becker at 2nd. Two down for SS Colby Wilkerson.
  • Wilkerson lines a base hit into LF. One on and two down for Donofrio.
  • Donofrio melts a no doubt two-run HR to RCF. 4-0 UNC. Nobody on and two down for Honeycutt.
  • Honeycutt on 0-2 dumps a base hit into LF. One on and two down for Cook.
  • Honeycutt steals 2nd. Runner on 2nd and two down now for Cook. 2-0 count.
  • Cook on a full count lines a base hit into LF. Honeycutt scores, 5-0 UNC. One on and two down for Harber.
  • Harber hits a grounder somewhere into LF, camera missed it but Cook scores to make it 6-0 UNC. Harber ends up with a double, runner on 2nd and two down for Osuna.
  • Osuna walks on four pitches, wild pitch moves Harber up a base. Runners on the corners and two down for Stevenson.
  • Stevenson bounces out to Becker at 2nd to end the frame.
