Liberty wins 10-3 to take the season series and improve to 23-14. UVA falls to 20-15.
We’ll see you this Thursday 7 PM EST as the HOOS start their road series in Tallahassee against 7th ranked FSU.

We’re done. What a shame for a promising season to result in mediocrity. I just don’t see this team making the tournament.

As hard as it is to imagine, lacrosse has plummeted further than baseball, though it is a tough competition.

lacrosse was rebuilding this year. on the other hand the baseball team is one of the most underachieving teams in uva sports history, there’s time to turn it around but our acc schedule ain’t no joke
Lacrosse was ranked #4 in the preseason poll. Rebuilding or not… the expectations were there.

damn i didn’t know that didn’t we have some injuries?
No key injuries really. We have been shaky in the goal (back and forth between Nunes and Morris with neither of them really doing well), but opponents are spending too much time on offense. Face offs have been hit or miss and our offense has looked a lot like the basketball team with painful scoring droughts. There is talk that Cassese just isn’t cutting it as our offensive coordinator.
Still feels like we’re letting the bats off the hook more than we should be.

I don’t think anyone is giving the bats a pass, it’s no secret that our power numbers falling off a cliff along with our lack of hitting with RISP has been a major part to our downfall this season. But the original question was about pitching.
You don’t disappoint to the level we have without a multitude of things going wrong. Hitting, fielding, and pitching have all chipped in negatively to our poor play.

An argument could be made that hitting last year helped to overcome pitching issues. The best antidote to meh pitching is averaging close to 10 runs a game on offense.
