Starting this thread early to post that our home opener tomorrow against GW is cancelled due to weather and will not be rescheduled.
Hope we win

Sitting down here in Austin and can confirm the weather for Friday and Saturday games are little better. High of 36 on Friday, freezing rain that night, 45 with a chance of showers on Saturday. Only Sunday does it start to improve, 61 and sunny.
The Hoos picked a hilariously bad time to come to Texas weather wise
Texas weather in February is remarkably hit or miss. Next week starting Monday it’s going to be 70s and sunny every day. But you do get these garbage “arctic blast” weeks mixed in where everyone local just stays home.
Why not start on Sunday then?
Because athletes have class on Monday and Tuesday?
Snark aside, maybe? But you’d need all four teams to agree.
We also have a game in Charlottesville against VMI next Tuesday.
Will probably see some shuffling for those weekend games unless we get lucky with the weather, wouldn’t be surprised to see both Friday games moved up to try and get both in before the rain comes. Saturday not sure, looks like the rain is supposed to be earlier in the day so maybe the games get moved back. As long as it’s light showers and not pouring down or a thunderstorm they’ll play through it if need be.
That ice storm cold freeze that knocked power out in Texas for like a week was this week 4 years ago.
Its called the Grand Minimum

13 here today. Had a low of -13 last week. But it will be 60 next week.
The ACC is doing a 16 team single elimination tournament with 4 double byes and 4 single byes? I love that idea and format even if that’s not how baseball is played at any other level. But I can’t imagine how a 9-16 seed would ever win 5 games in 5 days given their pitching probably wasn’t that deep to begin with which is why they were seeded that low in the first place.
This is why baseball is not a sport.
It’s either that or you limit to just 12 teams (like last year) and it is still 4 games in 6 days to win it all. It was already a lot of pitching for the two teams in the finals. It’s hard to leave out 6 teams. Just another reason these new mega conferences are only a good idea for football (if that)
There ya go
As expected, our game time on Friday has been moved up.
Both of Friday’s games moved up two hours.
Same rotation as last weekend, so still no Blanco as a starter. Would assume we’re gonna bring him in slowly over time even if he’s available.
Got baseball here in an hour.
The entire weekend is being streamed on D1baseball.com, and honestly it’s a massive ripoff. You have to not only subscribe to a $15 premium membership on their website, you also have to pay a one time fee of $20 on top of that. All to essentially watch your team play three games.
I would recommend finding other means of watching if you can (check TheSabre baseball board and look at Hoo TV’s posts), otherwise I’ll be doing PBP here and you can keep up that way.
