My guy @jazznutUVA can clean up the thread name but wanted to post Bryson Moore appears to be getting the start tonight. Would be a huge addition back to the staff if he’s healthy. I honestly didn’t think we’d see him again this season…
I’m honestly surprised this game wasn’t ‘cancelled’. We’ve got another midweek game tomorrow against Navy and this one in particular only serves to hurt our RPI.
1-0 HOOS bottom of the 1st as Becker continues his hot streak with a solo shot to LCF.
No weekend series though probably just trying to stay fresh. Also doesn’t hurt to try and stack as many wins for record appearance as possible.
1-1 game in the top of the 2nd, diving catch made by Teel in CF but it’s a SAC fly for VCU.
2-1 VCU in the top of the 2nd on a two out soft liner into CF just past the glove of Godbout.
Before that AB Moore an expected quick hook, now out of the game. Kampschror gave up the last hit, now also being taken out of the game for Arrington.
Game now tied at 2 in the bottom of the 2nd as Teel rips a two out RBI double into the RCF gap.
Wow VCU just turned a triple play on us. Don’t see that very often.
3-2 HOOS in the bottom of the 4th on a Nunnallee RBI base hit to LF that scores Wells. He takes 2nd on the throw in, we got 2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the frame.
4-2 HOOS bottom of the 4th on a Teel RBI infield single that scores Didawick. Got two on with one out now, Becker up.
5-2 HOOS bottom of the 4th, two consecutive wild pitches scores Nunnallee and moves Teel to 3rd.
8-2 HOOS bottom of the 4th as Ford breaks things open with a three-run shot into the LF bleachers.
8-5 HOOS top of the 7th, three-run HR from VCU after a walk/fielder’s choice/error by Hanson. One out in the frame.
9-5 HOOS bottom of the 7th, Nunnallee drives in another, this time with two outs.
9-7 HOOS in the top of the 8th after a VCU RBI single that scores two.
We fucked around by keeping Colucci in to start this frame after he gave up the three-run HR last inning, and let him give up two base hits before pulling him for Lanzendorfer. Bullpen continues to be a major, major issue for us.
9-7 HOOS heading to the top of the 9th, Lanzendorfer still on the mound. Need three more outs to exhale.
VCU leads off with a double down the LF line. We refuse to make it easy.
Next batter, VCU’s top hitter, K’s swinging. Runner on 2nd and one down.
Next batter is plunked on the foot with the first pitch. Two on and one down.
