Home game tonight at 6PM against a solid VCU team, they were the 4 seed in our region in D1’s midseason projected field of 64. 22-10 on the season and currently on a 5-game win streak, should be a tough test.

Am home from work so we’re gtg. Buchanan gets the start in what is likely a staff day, still no Godbout in the lineup.
We’re about to get underway. Top of the 1st, LHP Matthew Buchanan starts on the mound for the HOOS. 2B Ethan Brooks to lead off for VCU.

What was the call/word from the ump on the Becker play? I had to step away and missed it just as I pulled it back up.
Call stood, I guess since the runner wasn’t out of the basepath the impetus was on Becker to keep control of the ball. Weird play, don’t think a runner should be able to truck a fielder like that but IIWII.

Let’s get this fired up, we got baseball in about 15 minutes.
Blanco as expected takes over on Fridays in place of McKay. Jaxel is the announced starter tomorrow so he’s getting another chance, but Sunday is listed as TBD so we’re seeing a shakeup there. My guess would be Coady gets the call that day. Gonna need some quality starts from our guys as, surprise surprise, Louisville is another ACC team that can really hit the ball. Got some HR power but they do most of their damage in the gaps and on the basepaths, so we’ll have to be active with pickoffs to keep them honest.
Also still no Godbout in the lineup, makes me wonder if this time his injury is longterm. Hope not, Becker has filled in well at 2nd but we’ll need Henry come tourney time.
Looks like first pitch got pushed back a bit to 6:15, so a bit more of a wait.
