I hear you on SMU, but I also think theyāll struggle in their first season in the ACC, facing a P5 schedule for the first time. They lost their only 2 games to P5 schools this season and if you look at the cumulative conference records of Houston, Cincinnati, BYU and UCF in the Big XII this season, it was 6-28 with 4 of those wins against each other, so 2-24 against the rest of the Big XII.
Iād gladly take him. But Iām not sure the Hoos have much of a pitch beyond āhey I coached your brotherā
Gotta imagine his asking price high
Yāall are wild doing wins and loses in Dec 23 for 24. Iāll check back in with an O/U in April. We donāt know nearly enough about the roster to conjecture anything
While true, I think this time last year looking at our 2023 opponents, I probably thought 2-3 wins max which wasnāt that off (although the wins being Duke and UNC werenāt remotely anything I could even imagine).
To your other point about Etienne, he probably wants to play behind an OL with fewer question marks too.
Also saw that Taulia played in 5 games in 2019 at Bama so he burned his redshirt that year and is out of eligibility.
And agree with you @UVApride7 about Louisville not being a sure loss with them breaking in a new QB.
So 3 sure losses, 3 75% likely losses, 3 (maybe 4) coin flips at best and 3 (maybe 2) have to wins.
Plus we have no clue what injuries look like for different teams by the time we play them. Tech for example could be looking at a 10 win season with their schedule āon paperā but for all we know drones takes one bad hit and their entire season changes. Same applies to most teams
Another big time in-state guy we offered out of HS.

Another offer out, 5ā11 180 lbs. WR from FAU who had 37 catches for 411 yards and 4 TDās this season. Seems like the staff has put an emphasis on adding some experience via the portal to that position group.

@UVApride7 do you have a list of the CBs the Hoos have offered so far?
I agree it appears the staff is looking to add some experience do the WR core. I was thinking about a convo we had earlier and I believe DB and WR are probably the 2 easiest places to quickly upgrade through the portal with guys who can generally plug right in.
The known offers to CBās right now are Kenan Johnson from GT and Syeed Gibbs from Rhode Island. Weāve reached out to a bunch of others though and got visits from Kendren Smith out of Penn and Alex Oliver out of VMI.
Iām judging most of this off of what Iāve seen from Twitter and the transfer portal tracker thread JF has up on the 247 board (which isnāt behind a VIP paywall). Thereās definitely a chance some have been missed though.
Couple of big losses for ACC teams, Dookās leading rusher and Wakeās leading receiver.
We didnāt offer either out of HS but Banks is from VA. Also we should at least reach out to Waters and double check whether or not heās interested, because heās very good.

Crystal Ball prediction in by JF for OL transfer Drake Metcalf. Started five games at Center last year for UCF but then played the rest of the season as a rotational Guard after having trouble with snaps. Only gave up one sack on the year though.
Thatās the type of depth and versatility the team needs. Solid if hr comes through

So far Lex Long has felt like the only significant loss of a likely starter next year, right?
I assume theyāre filtering out walk-ons from those numbers?
Some Bronco recruits still being filtered out, whether for system fit, development, or culture reasons. Is what it is.
Letās see who they get replaced with.
Yep, so far heās the only one. Though landing a transfer TE now becomes even more of a necessity with Rawlings gone, we currently have zero returning catches at that position.
Minor quibble but donāt follow āIām entering the transfer portalā with āforever a Cavalier.ā
No youāre not. Youāre trying to be nice but it sounds dumb.
At least he didnāt go the āwith that being saidā route.
Heās been here 4 years, he graduated. What else do you want?
I think weāre at 10 if you donāt include walk-ons. For some reason 247 has us at 11 but includes PWO Devin Sherwood who is in the portal, but not Ant Fisher or Carlo Thompson who are also PWOās.
I cut guys some leeway depending on the circumstances. He got his degree. He was recruited by the previous staff and stuck it out for two years with the new one. Itās possible Elliott and the staff were pushing him out anyways.
Joe Montana finished his career with the Chiefs, but heās forever a 49er, right?
