Ok. At least we’ll know one way or the other by tomorrow night.

If the county is the issue, why would they return to Charlottesville?

I don’t understand why the County matters. Is it because we have to travel and can’t get authorization to use the airport without their approval?

I mean, if I’m being honest, at this point I’m assuming we are fielding a team that is likely to lose in the first round, although maybe I’ll be surprised. I’m just hoping we’re able to field a team. Think it’s a big win at this point just to play, and I’d take it.

One thing I’m sure of is that the program is speaking with all relevant authorities in county and NCAA to get clarity and figure it out. It’ll probably be frustratingly unclear to us for a bit, but I’m sure they’re figuring out what needs to be done and by when.

Gotta have 5 non-traced players identified by the 11pm Sat deadline, that’s the word. Only the guys on the roster can count, no managers or anything like that. Gonna be tight.

And I assume Kansas has that same standard to meet? Self seems pretty confident they will be good to go.

All he’s got to do is find enough people who will lie for him, right?

The dog pile celebration may be our downfall— like about 50 people on this board, I said that to myself when I saw it live.

How is that even possible given it was a positive from a player who played? Also How is it taking this long given all the mentions of technologies that track contact tracing?

There’s 17 guys on the roster, right? 8 of whom played yesterday and likely close contacts? So 5 of the other 9?

I’m confused. Wouldn’t we already know the contact tracing based on electronic monitoring? If not how’s it being determined?

This article also does a decent job explaining it as well as how the NCAA is leaving the determination of length of quarantine to the local health deputy for what’s considered a close contact.

Think that’s where the county potentially comes in. If we make the 11p cutoff, then our close contacts and positive(s) would be subjugated to whatever the local health deputy determines as their length of quarantine before they could join the team in Indy.

Well, that seems to kill the dream of suiting up a football player or something if they have to be on the roster.

How does Albemarle County compare to Greensboro? Stay in the county with the less stringent protocols?

Just speculating here, but it could be just parsing through the data. If the 15 minute close contact thing means mask off but doesn’t count time spent with masks on, the chip obviously isn’t recording that, so they’d have to try and go through and categorize time spent in close proximity masked versus unmasked. Game time obviously unmasked, and maybe roommates in room unmasked and all of that. Could also be totally different things but with similar effect on time it takes to figure it out.

Yeah, I don’t know what’s considered the local health deputy. Is it where the player was tested positive? Or is it local to their college?

Seems arbitrary either way.
