UVA Is Out of ACCT After Positive Covid Test

Nothing about this is normal or logical. I have to imagine UVA knows whether they have 5 cleared or not. I also don’t think Tony is a loophole or pulling strings kind-of guy. Just think it all comes down to if the guys identified as in the clear have clear tests tomorrow.

Yeah hopefully that means something and the committee is in the loop. UVA is bound to have some contact tracing data by now though.

I’ll take solace for today in this reply to Rothstein’s tweet. Who would have thought we would be included with Kansas in a statement like this ten years ago?

Perhaps lost in the doom and gloom is the awesome opportunity for CTB to send out a starting five of Coleman, Nixon, Poindexter, Kastra and Caffaro, get a weird look from the ref, and say in his best Norman Dale voice, “my team’s on the court.”

It is arbitrary. There is no scientific basis if you create a standard that is based on a single incident.

Yeah, well, it comes down to how you see it. One person’s “loophole” is another person’s “creative rule interpretation”.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw that. May have been the only time today I smiled.

I read that as there need to be 5 legit roster players to submit to the NCAA in order to qualify. Once qualified however, managers could suit up and be bench players just like they could in regular games. AmIright?

I think it was JWilly on his last show that said Matt Palumbo could really shoot. He looked good in the manager game highlights against Duke.

I missed that the tourney starts a day later this year. First round games are Fri & Sat. Could end up benefiting us.

It of course behooves the ncaa to have both UVA and KU participate. You’d think plan would be to give both sat/mon draw

Unfortunately I think we can disregard the Rothstein tweet. They don’t have the full tracing results yet to make a determination, good source on that.

Grrr. Charlie Brown meet football. Again, not sure why they wouldn’t have results if trading is measure electronically among the team.

Any idea when those would normally come in? It’s a little worrisome that they don’t have conclusive results yet considering it’s all digital and tied to the chips.

I have zero inside info, but I’d absolutely bet you they do have at least some measure of tracing results. The he issue is that they’re finding a way of presenting the data such that we have 5 eligible players.

No idea. The Rothstein tweet brought a not so fast out of the woodwork that couldn’t be ignored. I assume we’ll know for sure by tomorrow.

I’ve heard that, per the NCAA guidelines, Kansas stayed in the conference tournament bubble after being eliminated and simply sent the player who tested positive home. Meanwhile, I believe our entire team returned to Charlottesville. Any insight on why we would have done this?

Bill Self planning their trip to Indy. Totally confident about it. No mention of contact tracing. Gotta make you feel better about our chances of playing but the attitude of the two schools is a world apart.

Not sure it does. I am seeing several places that the ncaa asked teams expecting a bid to stay in tourney bubble, even if they lost? Which KU did (but sent positive) player home. While we leave Greensboro and head home?

Edit. Oops, saw same question posted above.

Do we know for sure that the team is back in Cville, or is that just a rumor?
