As in defending our title on the court?

And is it true that the NCAA told teams to stay in their conference tourney bubbles? If so, it would seem to be bad news that we came back to Cville.

Yup, he’s going to bully his way in just like Coach K would have done if he had been able to field a competitive team.

That’s NCAA guidance but not requirement. I wouldn’t read into it negatively.

I mean this is one of those cases where Tony is hopefully pulling all strings. Disservice to the players not to.

No lesson to be learned by playing by the arbitrary, unclear rules.

It’s been mentioned already but good reminder that our athletic department could really use the money from participating as well.

The more I hear it all comes back to what Dana O’Neil tweeted earlier. Hopefully there will be some slight bending and we’ll be on even footing with Kansas.

Greensboro or Albemarle? Wish we had stayed in Greensboro

You never know, right?

Would be interesting to know what conversations are occurring between Uva and local governments

Still would’ve been subject to UVA and Albemarle/Virginia covid regulations. FWIW, VDH contact tracing regulations are 7 days quarantine including a day 5 negative test.

Why does the residence of the virus matter? Contagion is fundamentally local.

We are still talking about risk and safety and not just blind obedience to various sets of rules right?

UVA absolutely has a say if its athletic teams travel for competition. You may not like that answer, but that’s the reality we’re dealing with (fighting against?)

UVA just further relaxed regulations for students yesterday, so I’m not sure that will be an issue

or maybe “might not be as much of an issue as we may think”

This is all setting up perfectly. Next fall we will be watching “Unbelievable II: Virginia’s Improbable Path to a Consecutive Title.” Weird hair professor from Darden will be starting off the documentary with, “UVA had less than a 1% chance of fielding five players by 11 pm on the evening before the tournament selection, but Grant Kersey was discovered to have one more year of eligibility left.” Followed by, “With only Kersey, Katstra, Coleman, Nixon, and Stattmann available to play, UVA’s chances against Gonzaga in the second round could not even be calculated with today’s technology.”

It’s my dream to have that guy as a prof while at uva. Will likely fail his class but bet I could teach him a thing or two about the value of per possession stats

What are the Albemarle County Covid regulations? I’ve read that those are the issue for us but I haven’t seen what they are.
