Dont know why but this graphic made me chuckle hard. The “Just got hired. Have to look professional attire” to the “I hate ties” attire to the “COVID was the best thing that happened in my life cause it got rid of the suit and tie protocol” look
I’m really interested in knowing the thought process behind going with the side profile for Modern Tony. Maybe trying to appeal more to the female demographic on their Instagram page.
No idea what to do with this, but they forgot the Dots!
Do not fret the ACC Network announcers will not
Hopefully the start of 300 more…
Dang hot dogs or hoboes it’s tough to call
Casey Morsell: 9
Reece Beekman: 5
Kihei Clark: 8
Isaac traudt: 0 (RS)
Curtis Staples 32
Still the best all time 3P shooter at UVA IMO
McKneely up to 38% from 3. For a guy that really struggled out of the gate it’s awesome to see him get better as the competition has improved
A couple of observations. Franklin has found his groove back. Clark is doing his thing better than ever. Shedrick is protecting the rim when he is in.
What is missing? 100% a healthy Beekman taking it off the dribble. He was playing like a star before his injury. It changes the whole complexion of the game. Remember him driving the lane and rising up for the 2 handed dunk prior to his injury. When was the last time you saw that explosion.
Prediction: Assuming Beekman heals combined with the now visible emergence of IMAC. By mid season we will surpass the team we were in Vagas.
When Virginia gets a 10 point lead it feels like ____ ?
UNC Central - had a 16 point lead and UNCC came back and took a 1 point lead in the 2nd half… 17 point swing.
Baylor - had a 22 point lead and won by 7 … a 15 point swing
Michigan - had a 7 point lead and Michigan came back to lead by 11 at one point … an 18 point swing
FSU - 12 point lead and FSU got it down to 3 … a 9 point swing
JMU - had an 11 point lead and JMU came back to tie it up in the 2nd half … an 11 point swing.
Houston - had a 9 point lead and Houston went up 11 at one point … a 20 point swing.
Pittsburgh - Had a 13 point lead and Pitt took a 6 point lead late … a 19 point swing.
Syracuse - 23 point lead and won by 7 … a 16 point swing.
I think we all get that the tired trope was appropriate 2+ years ago but that it doesn’t really apply this year because of the new pieces of our defense and inconsistency.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, anything positive to say here or nah?
If you are going to complain, at least get the opponent names right…
“UNC Central”
Runs happen to…every team? Lazily, I just looked up a recent Houston game, a 6 point win against UCF. Up by 13 with 3 mins left in the first half, down 4 after 5 mins of the second half.
Interesting info, broken down by 10 minute segments, from KenPom.
+51 in the first 10 minutes
+11 in the last 10 minutes of the first half
+82 in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half
+2 in the final 10 minutes of the game
Obviously there is something to be said about being ahead by a lot at the end of the game. Trends appear to be that we come out of the locker room strong, but have troubles finishing halves and games.
That’s pretty interesting. Where are you seeing that data on KenPom?
Felt like back in our glory years the last 10 minutes were our strength. By then we’d completely worn the other team down and pulled away.
I wonder how it compares to other similarly ranked teams? I kinda expect most good teams to at least have a similar second half pattern, because in the games you win comfortably, you’re usually up a lot with 10 mins left and take the foot off the gas a little/put in deep bench guys against their starters.
