Hauser and Huff go undrafted. I’ll be interested to see where they end up. Once it gets super late in the 2nd round some guys opt to go undrafted so they can play the market as a whole. Could be what’s happening with 1 or both of them. We should know within the next day or 2.

Hmm seems like Hauser had interest from the Heat but got a better offer?

Honestly think this is really cool. Guys who have left the program always seem to show love to guys still here and vice versa

Didn’t McKoy host Traudt on his UNC visit? I thought that was funny, or was that just a message board rumor?

He did. If I remember correctly, he was actually hosted by two transfers which was…an interesting choice.

Awesome for Trey!

Another benefit is that Trey going to New Orleans guarantees he’s going to put on weight!

I’m very curious how OKC’s draft plays into Ty’s role with the team next year. KG almost certainly will not be back with the Kings. With free agency opening up next week it will be interesting to see what interest is out there for him.

KG is gone from the Kings for sure, they have way too many options in their backcourt esp after not trading Heil yesterday. Unfortunately for Ty it’s doubtful he is in OKC’s future. I still don’t fully understand what OKC is doing. If I’m Ty I’m calling everyone I know in LA to get on the Lakers. They are short on cash with Russ coming onboard and they are in need of shooting.

Honestly, the whole tanking and stockpiling draft picks is a strategy I’m skeptical of. Boston had 20 picks under Ainge and never capitalized on it. Philly has yet to realize the max of their efforts.

I think tanking is viable. Even though it hasn’t gone perfectly, Philly was the top seed in the East this year. And if they don’t make that disastrous trade with Boston they may have had Tatum (or if Fultz doesn’t have one of the weirdest breakdowns ever). Boston never tanked and got sorta hosed by the enigma of Kyrie Irving plus Hayward shattering his leg. Throw those two plus Brown and Tatum and you have a title or at least some appearances. I think tanking is still a good strategy because there aren’t a lot of good other options

Yeah I’ve seen pretty poor draft grades for OKC.

Also the thing with Ty is that while I think he has the potential to be a good NBA player, I think it’s also clear that he’s never going to be a star NBA player. And if you’re OKC good players don’t have much value. They need to keep taking swings for superstar players

True tanking can be viable. My issue is I haven’t seen a team put it all together yet and actually win. Sure all those teams had plenty of other random things happen but that’s how it goes in sports. I do like the idea of stockpiling picks if a GM actually uses those picks for collateral in a trade for an established star or a strong up and comer. It takes too long and is too risky to depend on nailing multiple drafts in a row.

I think part of the reason that we haven’t seen one of these tanking franchises is also a bit of a selection bias problem. Teams like the Lakers don’t really have to tank like an OKC. Sure they can suck for a few years but at some point they’re going to land a big time free agent. That just doesn’t happen for pretty much any team but a few
