He’s scrappy, but bottom line is This is a long hard season and a big lesson for this program. I’m not mad at the game.

Maybe I’m too optimistic but I still like our chances for an at large bid if we can get the right matchups in the ACC tournament (Q1 opponents). Obviously we could get the auto bid but I think getting to the finals is very realistic.

I think we have a realistic shot. We had opportunities tonight, didn’t make some shots that we usually do or should. I think we have a realistic shot at winning the ACC Tourney. I mean besides Duke, I don’t think we are worse than anyone. I think we math up bad against UNC and if we shoot like crap we can lose to anyone. But, this team can definitely do it.

We were not supposed to beat duke this year in either game. If your son or daughter was on this team you’d be telling them they did a hell of a good job. I think these guys deserve the same standard tonight. Hell of a good game.

So realistically could see us winning the next 2 and still getting a 6 seed which is honestly ideal. 5 seed is not what we want. We need to avoid Duke because I’d feel good about our chances against anyone else. Would 4 straight wins and a loss to Duke in the semis be enough to get us in? Will be so interesting to see play out but I love the way we’re playing and the ACC is riddled with teams that don’t scare me in the slightest

Disappointing, but can’t be upset. The team played hard and the team played well. They’re a legit good team right now – playing vintage Virginia D especially – but may have taken too long to get there. Still, if we can go toe-to-toe like this with Duke for two games, we should be able to beat anyone in the conference. And a long run in the ACC Tournament might clinch us a bid to the NCAA. Will depend on our draw, I guess.
Also: Jayden has become a hell of a defensive player.

as long as Miami wins we will be 6th seed. Wake beat us so they win tiebreaker. we need to cheer for the Hurricanes from here on out to get the 6th seed. and then of course we will have to beat the hurricanes for the third time in the quarters.

I think if we get to the final (HAVE to beat FSU and Louisville which isn’t a given if we have an off night) against Duke and lose a right one, we should be in. Joe Lunardi can kiss my ass. His comments at half time were basically UVA is out no matter what, I hope the committee is a little more realistic and flexible.

We can agree on that. Just frustrated a little – and rather than blame Kody, let me amend – I do not understand CTB’s lineup decisions generally. Honestly, just how bad can Taine and Igor be that they basically NEVER see the floor? On reflection, my beef is with CTB, despite his very deserved above-reproach status. I’m just a sad fan for the moment. Go Hoos!
