I think when youāre at a talent deficit vs the opposition, you have to do something different, whether thatās slow or down and limit possessions or speed it up and get easy points, it canāt be conventional or else talent wins out in the end. So I think this works for us now, but hopefully thereās a plan for when we have talent equal to our competitors.

I have to find the quote, but when she was hired and asked about her coaching philosophy, she said she ran something familiar for us, but I canāt remember if it was blocker-mover offense or pack line defense. I didnāt actually see any of either last season, but I only watched a few highlights.

Another must-win for NCAAT hopes, because we probably wonāt be able to afford any bad losses on our resume. (Same logic applies to the next 3 games: Rider, Wofford, Fordham.) Plus given weāll have like a dozen games against Top 25 teams, we need Wās wherever we can get them.

This low-budget broadcast is actually kind of fun. One-man broadcast team who sounds like heās in a tunnel, jerky camera, initially no graphics on screen (not even the score), since then theyāve got us listed us as #10 Virginia, now for the past few minutes thereās no audio at all. And you know what, itās fine!

Iām kinda sad they fixed the audio. No charm in that. I did like when the guy threw to commercial and then there was no commercial, we just watched nothing happening at center court.
Feels like we should be ahead by more. Defense still getting caught out of position too often. Offense keeps taking early jump shots even though it seems if weāre patient we can get layups almost at will.

I hope they tighten stuff up as the season goes forward. I donāt see any defense being played and Iām not entirely sure what their offensive scheme is other than to try and fast break ad nauseumā¦ even if it isnāt open to fast break.

Yeah, the defense is most concerning to me. I think this team will find ways to score, but we have to be able to guard. Itās looked rough. Opponents are just wide open or getting to the rim with ease.

That last play on defenseā¦ it was continuation from last gameā¦ the ball handler dribbles into the lane and two defenders go with her leaving a wide open player for a three.
Why are both players going with her? I keep seeing this happen.

Maybe Tony and Mox should switch practices for a week during the break just to see what would happen. I think Tonyās head might explode watching this defense though.

Time on the graphic went from 10:00, to 2:55, 3:55, 3:45, then ticked down to 3:42. Iām enjoying the amateur hour production more than the game

I feel terrible, but Lawson just falling over out of nowhere with the ball was funny. Donāt think Iāve seen somebody just stop and fall like that sans injury.
