I’m so amped. My buddy from HS/UVA is turning 30 so he has a big crew coming too. A non zero chance I just don’t leave to return back to TX

Someone make my dreams come true and get me into Cameron - only arena ACC arena in NC that I haven’t been to yet. I can promise jokes, Bold Rock, things I could blame on Tourette’s (kidding)

There is no way this is real. This is an AI generated poster where the prompt was: ā€œmake an outlandish list of strings based bands for a fictional winter music festival near a ski resort.ā€

For Christ sake … Magoo is a band. You’re telling me MAGOO is a real life band?

Wow, never heard of this one. This is the music fest I’m familiar with, that also caters to Texans:

I noticed that the Wondergrass appears to have shows at the Thunderhead Lodge. That’s at the top of the original gondola. Interesting place for concerts. Beautiful views of the North Park and Flattops Wilderness for sure.

Norfolk, as for places to watch the game, on the mountain, probably the best spots would be Truffle Pig or Timber and Torch, both are in Gondola Square, so easy to get to. In town, probably O’Neil’s Tavern or Back Door Grill. Yampa River Icehouse is a pretty good BBQ joint, but I’ve only been there in the summer when the deck is open. I think it’s a bit small inside.

Since, Feb. 1, sorted by defensive efficiency. Both teams under 90 defensive efficiency. Going to be a classic Virginia ball game.

Big diff in offensive efficiency though

Yes, a classic Virginia ball game.

Is it true Virginia has never beaten a #1 team on the road?

Think the Hoos On podcast, Preston Willett said UVA is 1-31 all time against #1 ranked teams (0-16 against Duke when they’re ranked #1)

If we get a tight game down the stretch I know who I want taking the big shot

Infamous Stringdusters used to be based in Charlottesville if I remember correctly. Spent my college years going to Festy (their yearly festival in the area) while it was still happening. Remember seeing Billy Strings Sunday night in a tiny tent in 2017.

If I’m being completely honest when watching this team in November I thought and probably said somewhere that Duke would run this team off the court. But 2 things have happened since then:

UVA has really learned how to play together and is playing very well on the defensive end. Probably still a ā€œweaknessā€ for the team but miles ahead of where it looked like they would be. Kudos to the staff and the players for locking in…

Duke has been a lot more reliant on Boozer than I thought they’d be. Evans is still a load, but Boozer really carries them more than I thought he’d need to given the talent on the roster.

This one is going to take a lot going right for the Hoos, but if we can make shots and get their frontcourt into some foul trouble our depth could end up pushing us past them.

Either way though this is the big one. The Hoos have a bunch of Q1 wins and Q1A wins but don’t have that signature victory to go with it. When comparing SOS we’re in the same ballpark as teams most consider to be overrated. Is what it is BUT this is our opportunity to go out and show why we deserve the high rankings and praise. We’ve got a great team now let’s go out and have a good showing.

That is correct. They used to host an open jam outside the pink building on South St. we used to wander over after a few too many margaritas at Mono Loco.

They had a vacant cajon beatbox I decided to join in and play with them. Entire jam stopped and politely explained to me how terrible I was. Simpler times.

Beat Duke.

I want carnage. I want Scheyer complaining about something after the game like: ā€œthey slapped our players around on the floor and Odom kneed me in the balls after the game. I want my daddy.ā€

This is a game where Malik Thomas may struggle. I can’t totally put my finger on why I think that, but I just think he will.
