šŸ€ Virginia at Duke, Saturday, 28 February 2026, 1200, ESPN/2

@norfolk_hoo , are you already in Steamboat? My wife and I were there for two weeks fron 01/26-02/09. We were kinda spoiled from the past three seasons when we got dumped for the entire trip. This year was pretty good our first week, but got pretty skinned by the second.

However, it looks like the Boat got some decent snow last week, culminating in 8ā€ this past weekend, and another 6ā€ overnight last night mid mountain, with 8ā€ and still falling at the summit. But Saturday looks like probably a good day to stay inside and watch a ballgame. Warm temperatures with a snow/rain mix. Get your powder day in now!

Of course, the all-seeing eye of Jazznut will probably merge this with the travel thread.

Well done, Hav, but don’t try this at home, kids.

It’s exhilarating and mildly shameful….

Natty champs went 0-2 against Duke in 2019.

Is this Duke team as good as that one?

Amazingly, ā€œCLTWahooā€ could have made the same tweet.

Not sure cbb is as good as it was back then.

I feel like it’s better? Same one-and-dones and way more multi-year guys hanging around. A lot more talent in the sport, just maybe more spread out

Any word on Thijs’ injury? Was it even an injury? I cringe if he is not 100% against Boozer. I’m not sure Tillis should play against a team full of 5-stars and future NBA athletes. Maybe throw him in there to make a couple threes and quickly bench him. Maybe we ask 8 people to play slightly more minutes in this one

wait was he injured again. he did play last night but not that much.

Was frustrating. In Odom’s post game presser he was asked about the injury but it was part two of a two part question. Odom only answered part one and either forgot to answer part two or chose not to answer.

From De Ridder’s demeanor on the side line post coming out I didn’t think it was overly serious, but who knows. Couldn’t tell if he was over there because of the slide (maybe straining something) or the ensuing bump against somebody’s legs.

This is why I teach all my journalism students to ask only one-part questions.

And the first question was about the scuffle, so Odom started answering immediately. I’m not even sure he heard the TDR question. Then the remaining questions were things like ā€œyou and coach Wade were both at VCU, what did you learn there?ā€ FFS! Find out if our most important player is hurt!

I think Thijs is fine! He was back on the bench and celebrated Eli’s dunk pretty intensely. He walked off carrying his own weight, and came back quickly. Think it was probably more precautionary than anything.

We probably just haven’t gotten much more on it because it’s not being treated as an issue.

That’s a helluva lineup! Should be an awesome weekend. Donato is awesome. My buddy Jay Starling plays w Leftover Salmon now and they put on a great show. Mountain Grass Unit may have the best young guitar picker not named Billy Strings. Sierra Hull absolutely crushes. And Devil Makes Three are a blast! Don’t sleep on Magoo (they should explode this summer). And you get to have UVA/Duke at 10am local to kickstart your day? Beyond jealous!

Just saw Bronwyn Keith-Hynes is playing Thursday night and Friday. She got her start busking on the downtown mall in Charlottesville as a teenager.

Also TDR is fine for this weekend.

I think he’s playable. I just worry if there’s lingering issues preventing him from being at his best. I just want to see him man handle Boozer in front of a national audience
