Itās kinda funny at this point - HooandTrueās absolute need to respond on any Rohde comment by anyone⦠hilariously unrelenting every single timeā¦
I get what youāre saying here, but looking back 2 months ago to the date we were on exam break. The last 2 games of consequence before that were against Syracuse and a ranked Texas A&M team. Rohde had 13 6 and 3 against A&M followed by 10 and 4 against Cuse, between the games he shot 5-12 from 3. Heās been bad but there was reason for optimism then just as there is reason for optimism he can build on his (better) performance last night.
Did you post last nights efficiency stats anywhere? May have missed it up the thread. Always appreciate seeing those.
Calling out someone else for not being able to let go of an argument is rich coming from you, Dave. Respectfully, of course
??? No more than the need to bring up Rohde every time. Im sorry you look at your kids and realize they will never bring you the joy Jay Huff did in 2019
@HoozGotNext you can delete this if its too far but its staying up on my end LOL. I need chips and guac
Haha exactly. So hypocritical
Donāt back down my man. They are ridiculous
Man how about this golf tournament eh?
Oh I have no issue with @chavlicek15 and actually agree with his points to a degree (Im moreso just trying to rationalize where Tony is coming from). DTW has to realize that the things he finds frustrating in me are also true of the topics he brings up. Like not letting anything positive being said about UVA without bringing up something from another school to put us down.
Finding something to argue over while on an 8 game win streakā¦mid super bowl. Love you guys!
Yeah thatās fine, good on you for keeping the peace, but I donāt need a 27% shooter in his career coming on and criticizing a multiple national coach of the year
This is the most dreadful game. Most of my neighborhood are casual sports fans anyways. Im just shitposting on my phone about Tin Tin. Itās healthy
I wish Taylor Swift showed up at our games, specifically the ones Cory commentated. It would be hilarious to listen to him somehow connect the conversation back to himself.
Well if we beat Pitt we will lengthen our lead on either Duke or WF by a full game over the next 2 days. If we donāt beat Pitt it may or may not be Rohdeās fault.
Oh Itās not just about the Peace. I acutally appreciate @chavlicek15 's input on some things and agree on some. And do think Tony is human of course.
I just dont think the Rohde thing is as big a deal given the alternatives outside Gertrudeās possible flashes are a deal breaker for this specific season. (Do think a healthy Gertrude with no rust and full spring and Summer is vital to next season, especially if no Reece. Our guard version of DeAndre Hunter) As opposed to my biggest worry this season which is foul trouble in the front court that leads us back to lineups where we were sucking. Really need those bigs on the floor.
I guess the real question is this: if Rohde were injured in the pre-season and never played, would we better/worse/the same without him? Probably good for a poll- but I prefer explanations along with the vote. Hereās mine:
We would be 100% the same record wise as a floor, and most likely better as a ceiling.
He doesnāt move the needle, and teams donāt guard him. Give Taine and/Eli those mins and other teams have to guard more. More importantly, it would be a shame to lose Elijah to portal to play Rohde so much. A real shame.
That said, he looked better last night. Was impressed with the free throws for sure. Itās a bummer so many people noticed the free throws as a positive step though. That shouldnāt be noticed if you are a starter.
We are talking immigration law at halftime if you want to join!
Sorry been sick ⦠Iāll try to do it in a bit
I strongly disagree with the 100% same record comment. Iāll give you this, we were flat out bad in every single loss weāve had. No one denies that. But Rohde did enough to contribute to the win last night. Iām not convinced we win that game without him. Thatās not to say he was the star, but he played a crucial role from tip to free throws at the end.
