I suspect you’re right. But he’s shooting nowhere close to 36%. And there’s no history or evidence that he is a 36% 3P shooter.

lol … did you see anywhere where I said other guys didn’t get roasted at times? Happened to Taine and Isaac also… even Dunn last night.
Buchanan got scored on three times in the first part of the game too

Yeah agree. It was mostly a thought experiment to demonstrate what the issue with Rohde really is (not his play overall, it’s just shooting).

UVA has held double digit leads in every game of the win streak. We aren’t getting lucky here; we have been the better team for 9 straight games.

Who missed a front-end in the last minute vs. Furman.

I think we had two 1-and-1s last night (Beekman and Rohde) and on both we converted both ends.

I didn’t mean IMac in the Furman game. I meant him last night.

I hear ya. But leave the thought experiments for the guys that haven’t received 70% of the total minutes!

(Also Dave, even you have to question Dunn’s efficiency numbers after not attempting a single shot against FSU)

And Taine by far the best O efficiency rating despite taking one shot

I guess I can explain these numbers again for those who aren’t sure. Offensive rating refers to how many points you produced on possessions you finish. Dunn had three assists. 0 FGA. 0 turnovers and 1/2 FTs.
So he produced 7 points on 4 possessions that he used.

Edit - he actually produced 9 points as 2 of his assists were for threes but the rating doesn’t account for that.

Dunn driving at his man into open space was helpful in spots… don’t just settle to be sagged off. Created Rohde’s 2 open threes.

Well damn… when you put it like that… it all makes sense…LOL

First I’d narrow it down to teams we actually beat. Maybe at Clemson? Florida in Charlotte?

I have a hard time getting on Reece for missing late free throws. Is there a player in the nation that is asked to do more on nightly basis? Dudes exhausted by the end of the 2nd half

More than 350 D1 players average more minutes per game than Beekman — the cutoff for stats is at 31.5, right where he is — and a good number of them are PGs and the most important players on their teams. So, yes?

There is evidence that he can hit 42% in an 11-game stretch. Would be real nice if he went on a heater to end the season like he did last year. Maybe he’s just a real slow starter, like 23 games slow. Bennett’s gonna play him, so let’s hope he’s turning the corner. The whole team seems to be gaining confidence - maybe it’s contagious.

Oh yeah we can forsure do it, heck I even join in on the debate. But I also think we could go around and around on the same discussion…

Take for example the Taine argument… as most have said ā€œhey he’s really good in limited minutes, we should expand his minutes!ā€ And that’s worked fairly well. The same type of reasoning could be used for Eli: ā€œhey he’s turning it over at a pretty high rate, maybe playing more minutes would also lead to more turnovers?ā€

The way we play turnovers simply can’t be part of the equation. Low possessions mean you have to value each one, which we have so frequently done as we are consistently near the top of the sport in TO per game.

Again, I think he’s got a very bright future, but I’m not privy to how he looks in practice. Because of that my thought is he probably looks the same in practice as he does in games… flashes worlds of potential but has to get better at the most basic part first.
