Yeah big agree on Thijs. He’s been missing really good looks. If he hit like 1.5 more a game we’d be in a lot better shape, and I think it would go a long way towards opening things up for him and the rest of the team again.

This!! Sometimes we do tend to forget that we’re having a great season!

This team is one elite defender away from being in another level. Chance is close imo

I’d say the other way - one elite offensive player away … like Duke and Louisville and North Carolina have. All the top teams have a dude who can just go get buckets.

Thomas is not quite that for us. Not that we expected him to be on par with that type of elite talent.

When I go full analysis it’s because I’m having a great time. I don’t get into exploring the good and the bad if we are doo doo.

Closer than I would’ve guessed

My son & I were debating just the other day what this edition would look like with Ryan Dunn on the roster.

We’re trending down a little bit, they’re trending up. Midweek road game against an uninspiring opponent.

We should be able to out talent them, but I’m definitely pretty worried about them. These are the games that can really sneak up on you in the conference schedule. I’m hoping they used up all their three point luck for a while.

I don’t think that Odom would play a guy afraid to shoot like he was, but god can you imagine trying to score with Dunn and Ugo on the court at the same time? Good luck. It’d be like playing against your dad as a kid

The paradigm here would be… would he be afraid to shoot in Odom’s offense? I would lean towards he would not.

Dunn would’ve been a much better shooter under Odom because there’s not nearly the pressure to make every shot and it frees guys up because they know there’s a good chance there will be an offensive rebound if they miss.

Also imagine Dunn on the break instead of Tillis lol

I didn’t realize Dunn was still coached by Tony. Can’t wait to see his shooting under a new coach!

The 25 students that show up are about to be real wasted for this game.

Didn’t Tony Elliott hand out pizza at one point?

Saw in a tweet that Odom recruited Loucks to VPI.

Loucks dodged a bullet, but you can imagine that he might still be resentful towards Odom for that. Extra motivation.

Player A: 5.5 points per game, 54.4 FG%, 23.5 3PT%, 52.5 FT%, 56.7 EFG%

Player B: 6.6 points per game, 43.2 FG%, 31.5 3PT%, 55.2 FT%, 51.4 EFG%

Player A: Ryan Dunn career numbers at UVa. Player B: Ryan Dunn career numbers in the NBA.

Why are we still doing this ā€œimagine if someone other than Tony Bennett coached Ryan Dunn and unlocked his offensive potentialā€ thing?

Because Tony Bennett sucked ass at coaching offense for the last few years of his career and didn’t particularly care that he sucked ass

Sometimes I think that’s accepted fact, and I shouldn’t harp on it, but then I realize, maybe it isn’t…
