Imagine the crowd from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s who went from perennial 1 or 2 win seasons to 1990 when we were ranked #1 for a few weeks.
This is where we find out whether the real 2025 UVA football team was the one that beat FSU or the one that choked against NCST. Win this game and this is a team that can win 9 - 10 games and go to a good bowl.
I think being veteran heavy it’ll pay off. Dudes should have poise and be level headed going into this.
I don’t think it’s that simple. They can lose this game and still be a pretty darn good team. Road games are just really hard, even for good teams.
But if they win this, I’m going to be thinking an ACC championship game appearance is very attainable
I’m optimistic, given that we’re coming off of one the most inspired and impressive performances in this programs history.
Folks need to start getting the idea into their heads that this staff is legit. Since the tech game last November (when they finally got the requisite resources to succeed), they have done nothing but cook. Fair to have doubts I guess, but anyone who has watched the product we have put on the field these first 5 games and doesn’t think this is a very well run and inspired organization/operation quite frankly doesn’t understand football
This team could lose today and stilk finish 10-2. Not saying its likely but it’s on the table.
Even the most optimistic fans had the Hoos going 1-1 against UL and FSU. They just might have got the split wrong
Feel like kam is due for a big int or sack today. How does lville line look @BDragon
Floating 6.5 and 7 depending on where you shop. Been pretty consistent slight drop from the 7.5 open. Generally the money hasnt come in for either.
I like the over 60.5
My doubt is just that historically this staff has lost a lot of winnable or close games on the road.
They coached a damn near perfect game last week, but there were still some scared moments - like that final offensive possession or not knowing the OT rules.
Think we’ve got the talent though. Need the defense to show up.
While the coaching was generally very good last week, I still think there was room for improvement from the players side, especially defensively. Elliott even mentioned it during his press conference, essentially that we played great but honestly could have played even better. I’m not expecting our defense to be great at any point this season, we don’t have the dudes in the secondary for that level, but I do think we can be better than we have been.
To be more explicit, we missed a LOT of tackles last week. And credit to FSU’s skill players for being tough to bring down, but in my opinion there’s plenty of room for us to improve in that department especially when you consider that a good chunk of our starters have the reputation of being sure handed tacklers (Kam, J Jackson, Minter, Clary, Carter). This week would be a great one to start, can’t allow UL’s RB’s to get free yards because we’re failing to wrap up. Their run game has struggled to get going so far this season but Brown and Watson have both racked up a lot of yards after first contact, cannot let them break off chunk plays or it’ll be a long day.
Those long sustained drives on offense are key. Keep the defense’s time on the field to a minimum. Hog the ball.
Okay time to switch games ESPN2
Tony Elliot level clock management there from ISU but I’m ok with it.
Well that’s probably it for Twitty this season. Damn.
frustrating hold but otherwise run game hasn’t lost a step so far
Hate this for him so much!
Rough start. Unnecessary hold that wipes out a huge run and lose our fourth-best option in the passing game (Twitty) on the same play.
ACC needs to outlaw field turf / artificial turf for outdoor stadiums. These non-contact injuries are ridiculous.
Thinking the same thing. Turf is trash for your body!
And second straight game in Louisville we’ve had a dude carted off this field (of course the last one was a broken neck).
