The lack of streaming robs us of seeing Duke Miles in the handshake line reuniting with his former coaches.
Going to be hard to be a whole lot of stock in the result. Hopefully we get some good info on how each player plays.

Then how can I be expected to affect the score?
(I suspect I wonāt like the answer to this questionā¦)
Malik has failed to score in double figures in only 4 of his last 40 games. Heās had more 30+ point games than < 10 pt games.
My gut is it will be a game of rock-paper-scissors between a fan and a UVA player in order to be able to play an UNO-like Reverse Card on the score. Hilarity will ensue and everyone will be entertained.
Byington will unveil his negotiated terms with Carla during our coaching search. The higher difference in AAV between the two teams will be applied to the score.
We will lose 1,500,078 - 86.
I guess Byington is going for the ol āIām not like a regular coach, Iām a COOL coachā approach to the scrimmage
I think you will be able to listen to the game at https://www.thegamenashville.com/
In seriousness, I am glad weāre traveling prior to the season.
Nothing these guys havenāt done before but with everyone being new, itās nice to get a road game travel experience under their belt prior to the ones that count.
Agreed⦠how many times have we seen teams plow through the out of conference at home for 6-7 games⦠then be completely put off their game when they get to their first hostile environment?
Cool⦠will check there! Thanks.
Correction/clarification. I called the station to confirm and here is the scoop:
The web address (thegamenashville.com) is correct, but when you click on Listen Live, you will have the option to select which affiliated station to listen to. The game will be broadcast on 94.9 The Fan, not 102.5 The Game.
Awesome find.
Here is the direct link⦠Iāve also updated the event in the first post in topicā¦
That description of Byingtonās strategy and Xās and Oās sounds like what NBA teams are looking for in coaches. I donāt know if he has the NBA temperament, people skills and desire for that though.
Heās a little more avant-garde than I think they want. Nick Nurse did a bit of that and people loved it until you get a couple losses throwing a box-and-one and zones at All-Stars.
He would be good if he got the right organizational and team buy-in though. His/his staffās scouting eye is whatās really special IMO. Heās really really good at finding gems, and that provides a lot more value in college with heavier roster turnover.
(Happy with Odom but still #AllinForByington if it doesnāt work out)
Why not do closed exhibitions like this with a live feed available only in the opposing teamās stadium. No TV. But you can either be present in Nashville or watch in JPJ. I just donāt understand why you donāt capitalize on this.
In a very not-related-at-all moment, back in the 70s, when driving back to Richmond after games, I would, for some unknown reason, pick up Vanderbilt games on the radio. The car only had an AM radio, and WGOE was limited to broadcasting only in daylight hours, soā¦The Vandy game was one of the few things I could pick up by the time I reached Louisa. Also in those days, if you were a member of the UVa Basketball Club, pit breaks at the Oilville Rest Stop were practically de rigueur.
Look on the bright side. They actually went to the trouble of announcing it would not be streamed. On social media. Thatās progress. Hopefully more progress is planned for the future, offsetting the fact that we wonāt be good at basketball anymore.
