Yes, it is early but Kenpom after the first games has VT at 58 and USCe at 61. That said, I know nothing about USCe roster. Also has the Hoos at 28 and UF at 40.

this. If we go Reece Rohde McKneely that’s only one real defensive guard for us. Rohde can use his size on Richard but whoever mckneely gets might cook a little.
My hope is a Reece McKneely Dunn Groves Buchanan opening lineup. And hope either McKneely or Dunn can make up for the lack of playmaking with Rohde off the floor.
Ive actually talked myself into being hype: That we may beat florida instead of losing by 10. We have a lot of growing to do, but Im interested to see how Florida looks if Reece can cut off the head of the snake, so to speak, guarding Kugal or their pg. Reece Bond Dunn defense on perimeter gonna be huge determining factor for us.

Reece on him might not be right in Reece’s wheelhouse (is Reece really a Swiss Army knife?), plus leaves Rohde on a tough guard
RD would be fun viewing but may be too cute for Tony’s tastes and leaves us a bit exposed in the post
I suspect it will be Rohde to start, and that may be okay tbh. I worry about Rohde more with smaller quicker guys.
Bond might be best, but he’s not a starter (yet) and he’s only playing his second college game

A legitimate concern with respect to their wings, but do they have a real point guard available for Friday?
I think they care more about the opportunity to put on their VT gear and yell “Let’s Go - Hokies” in a public venue after 4 tallboy domestic lite beers than they care about the basketball team itself. Regardless, based on the former, they’ll be there.

I live in Charlotte and don’t feel like that’s quite the case. Definitely see them from time to time but I haven’t noticed a ton. Maybe it’s because they’ve been so bad in football for so long that they’re just not as out in full force like normal

Clayton is probably close enough to count as a point guard. Was more scoring-focused at Iona, but his assist and turnover numbers were solid.

While he isn’t my favorite, he is preferable to Jimmy Dikes or Fran Fraschilla. With the new arrangement with the SEC & ESPN, I’m hoping we get Jon Sundvold occasionally. The one time I heard him as the color commentator, he was pretty good. Actually, he was really good.
