I mean, the ND game was pretty much the ultimate representation of “losing a game they shouldn’t”. But it also means they really better not lose this one as well.
Happy New Year! May the new year bring us a not-loss to Louisville please dear lord.
Me spending the entire year making fun of Louisville
Me realizing if we play like we did on Saturday we could actually lose to Louisville
Hoping Wednesday can be a palate cleanser after the bitter taste of Saturday’s game.
Lose Wednesday and we will have to consider the possibility that we are the worst ACC team (unless it is Syracuse).
I know one thing. Wife better hide the sharp knives.
We are not losing this game
Are you trying to convince yourself? Or is it a statement of fact?
While I tend to agreed we will know the answer to this question by the first TV timeout IMO.
I’m feeling confident. But that’s just because it’s a home game
I get it. I am just teasing you!
- Blowout UVA win from the start
- Slow start pull away late first half
- Trail at half come back and pull away 2nd half
- Down to the last few possesions UVA win
- Close Louisville win
- Louisville wins in a blowout (yes this is an option now)
I miss the good old days when beating Louisville was a given, and going into the game knowing that reading the game thread on the Yum board would warm my soul.
Good times.
It’s a home game and they suck. We’re gonna smoke them
Guessing the crowd will be sort of dead. Students are out and we suffered a very dispiriting loss - zero momentum. If team doesn’t come out with joy but instead plays with robotic drudgery (which is our default setting at times) … we could be in for a serious battle.
Serious question: is there a number of blowouts that would be sufficient to motivate TB to make significant changes to the offensive scheme and/or rotations? OR will it continue to be more of the same, betting on guys to execute at a higher level?
We should have a good idea Wednesday night, but I am curious what people think.
Feeling charitable this new year’s day. Trail at halftime, come out in the second half and surpass them.
I’d actually give Tony credit for making adjustments to scheme and fit, the problem we’re running into right now is the pieces not fitting to his non-negotiables.
As we’ve seen for years now, coach wants to run a lineup with multiple ball handlers. Guys who can not only initiate the offense but are sound with the ball as well. From London and Malcolm to Ty and Devon to Kihei with Reece, for better or worse this is one of the biggest stresses Tony has.
The problem now is that Reece and Rohde are the only two players who have shown a consistent handle and ability to start the offense. Hopefully Dante will be back soon to help with this, but so far we just don’t have the guys who can make a play with the ball in their hands that we have grown so accustomed to over the last decade.
Anyone else excited to see how this team responds? I’m not giving up on these guys (please don’t read my in game comments from Saturday lol).
No more long breaks. Let’s get right tomorrow night and win 1 of the next 2 on the road. That’s all I ask.
