Interesting take here. Our defensive stoppers vs. Quinerly tonight.

I would start him tonight and bring Rohde off the bench

He doesn’t play with the fear/robotic drudgery that I see on the faces of many of our underclassmen over the years. Love his vibe and courage.

No it was me

Speaking of Parrish, he has the Commercial Appeal Memphis Tigers beat guy on at 24:38 of this:

Notably, Munz said there’s a chance we see Tomlin tonight (one box to check, and likely only ~5 minutes or so)

listened to the wrong episode

My ex father in law used this argument trying to talk my ex out of marrying me but I think he meant something else.

Kinda curious what we do with RD on defense tonight. Feels like in a fair number of games he plays a bit of free safety / centerfielder, cheating off his man, esp. if the opposing 4 isn’t all that dangerous.

Jones has obviously been their biggest scorer, but kinda plays mostly 3 and sometimes 2. Seems like we could get away with RD on him, and Rohde or Bond or maybe even Elijah on Jaykwon Walton with Groves or Blake on Jourdain/Dandridge.

But I doubt it happens – my guess is we will get Dunn on Walton or Penny’s kid or Jourdain if they go 2-big. Groves/Blake on the biggest big. Reece or Elijah on Quinerly (suspect both guys will focus on that match-up if/when it happens). iMac on Caleb Mills (who’s surprised me with mediocre as opposed to bad numbers this year). But that leaves lots of Rohde on Jones, so hopefully that rust is off…

POTD. So True.

FWIW, my wife and I were at the game Saturday (she watches very little UVa hoops) and mid-way through the first half she said “Elijah is the best player on the team. He’s the only one aggressive and making things happen.” I explained that Reece and Dunn were better but that he was likely the 3rd best player on the team.

Eli is not phased by the lights or the moment. He will win us a game in March. Of this I am certain.

Go HOOS. Beat Memphis.

So many DUDES!

I expect this to be a close game. Tony will have us ready. Not getting embarrassed on national tv twice this non con

Does anyone have any info on where Harris is at with his recovery??

I think you have the key to the game right here. Memphis half court defense. The blue print to beat us is out there. Deny iMac open looks off screens at all costs, don’t sweat anybody else’s outside shooting, clog the lane to make it hard for Reece to drive late in the clock. I feel like teams that want to run on us typically struggle to stay locked in on half court D. Anybody seen enough of Memphis to comment how they look in that respect?

They have the athletes to make our life hell if they buy in. But execution wise and discipline wise is another story. But no idea if Penny hammers that into his team the last few days.

One key might, is, going to be Groves hitting some outside shots to open up said lane. I expect Memphis to switch on the outside and, as said, force guys to drive past them rather than take open outside shots. I think lots B/M (grrrr) to see just how disciplined their D will be. We are going to need to screen good and shooters need to cut hard. I expect some back cuts will be there (if we can make freakin layups) and finally inside triangle to yet again proven their discipline on D. Think maybe tonight could be Bond’s breakout game against a decent opponent. I like him with opportunities in the midrange.

I hope the staff would be comfortable with Rohde on Walton or Hardaway. Neither is much of an interior threat or offensive rebounding threat.

I love RD but I can see 7 things wrong in one FT here…
