Nah. Need Minor on Omer
I dont think Omier is that much of a back to the basket threat though. Could be recollecting poorly but he usually feasts of the space and gravity his shooters create. Also not really a focal point with their chuckers.
A game where Dunn could literally guard 1-5. And Bond 1-5 depending on their lineup
We wonāt see it, but it would be an interesting game to try Reece, IMac, Bond, Groves, Dunn lineup
I like this one as well
What exactly did Miami do to go on that late game-flipping run against VT yesterday? 33 points scored in the last 10 minutes.
They decided to dog Pedulla full court and deny him the ball. Many turnovers ensued and tech proceeded to crap down its leg. It was amazing!
Pedulla
Oh⦠@Jerome was more eloquent.
In Pedullaās defense though they have no one else you trust with the ball. But he did get very rattled
Heās pretty thicc though. Was pushing around Poteat some yesterday.
6ā7 245? right? Yeah his momma fed him well but no idea on his actual usage.
All I see is another Jordan Minor victim
Who the hell on Miami is going to defend Jacob āSam Hauserā Groves?
(lol I even strolled to the UNC board and they were talking about Groves as Manek 2.0)
Oh yeah I agree with @Foresthoo minor will be crucial, but this is a game where you can get groves on the floor more, especially with the heater heās onā¦.
Also I love what minor has done for this team, but heās also gotta be careful on the fouls. 3 of the last 5 games heās had 4 or more. Teams with talented bigs can attempt to exploit this so weāll need all the playable depth we can get behind him.
Like we said yesterday it is gonna get real for Minor playing against NBA level bigs in the ACC now
I watched the condensed game to get a clearer view of their offense. They certainly donāt give him a touch every ā or even most - of their offensive possessions, but they definitely threw it into him more than I expected. Of course, when they do he generally muscles it in, but he does have a little fadeaway that he uses a lot.
Bottom line his points are not coming primarily from cleaning up at the basket; he does have a post game and they use it. But, ya, mostly shots from 3.
Got it. Definitely not someone we should be doubling too much if at all.
Should be a game, similar to VT, where we can switch a lot.
Minor 4-5. Groves 3-5. Reece 1 through 4. Rohde 2-4. Dunn literally everyone on the floor. McKneely on whoever the least threat to cook on him on drives. And if Bond gets some run, he can guard most of their roster one on one.
Miami is like the perfect team to punish any slow rotations or weird help approaches on our end defensively.
Pack is the least likely to drive, and Cleveland definitely the biggest threat.
I always hear elite offense beats elite defense, but I think we beat them if we play sound defense; if they donāt have space the 3s arenāt falling.
I think I loved the Minor pickup at the time because it reminded me of Omierā¦ā¦ I was in love with watching the Miami run last year.
that was my original feeling as well.
Once I came around to Groves (my initial feel was meh but makes more sense than BVP) I was fully on my āGroves Minor > Jayden BVPā feels. That take was turning out horrendous for the first half of the season. But now we eating good.
Might take one or two more years for my āBond is more skilled than Dunnā take to fully show the vision, but man once Bond has a defined role and is confident in itā¦
Confidence is the problem with Bond. He seems to be nervous but I agree with you mostly. Heās needs more playing time. I believe in time he will be a great player. A great defender already
He really has to work on his over all handling of the basketball. Needs a better confident presence when he catches it. To your point
Is same thing I thought about Mccoy. Was just not good at dribbling or passing. Bond has time
Guys think the cure is getting shots up in the gym. Sometimes is much more basic than that
