You were right about FSU, Dave. Is that what you want to hear? Lol.

Clearly the 2nd best team we’ve played since UNC

I love the diagreeing parts - and I wasn’t meaning that particular opinion as part of people telling other people how they should post.
By the way I was hoping to be wrong about the FSU game and glad I was.
FSU was up by 9 with 8 minutes left and I was afraid I was right - then suddenly the Ugo and Jacari show took over - I haven’t seen a big man dominate the entire defensive side of the floor for an 8 minute stretch like Ugo did there in a long long time - amazing! Reminded me of AD at Kentucky.

Absolutely amazing after such a big win all people want to talk about is how to stroke their own egos and the physiological surrounding that. Sad. Personally why I’m on here less and less. People with this childish, I’m right, your wrong bullshit.

My heart is still full from yesterday…We finally got an entertaining game against a mostly healthy good opponent where both teams came to play! That was great… exactly what I enjoy during a season - as Haney so eloquently stated - enough of the UMES games. And then the Tony day on top of it??? Finally one of those stupid in game extended interviews that I couldn’t get enough of.

Grünloh got his swag back yesterday.

Also, pound for pound do we think Miami is more talented? I remember being impressed in the offseason with their roster.

Well, pretty much how I called it: we won because we’re so much better from 3, we’ve got too much rim protection for a team that relies on getting to the rim, and we’d dominate the boards, particularly the offensive boards. Oh, wait…

My slow-simmered-overnight-to-perfection takes:

Henderson and Udeh are beasts. I slept on their potential impact, figuring we just had to slow down Donaldson and Reneau. Miami is legit good and is playing good ball at the right time.

I can complain about the refs with the best of them, but I thought this game was reasonably well called. They generally let two physical teams bang away. The one complaint I do have is the chippy stuff they let Miami get away with, often right in front of the officials. The bump of Mallory on the free throw line was just one of a long line of dead-ball shoves and bumps throughout the game. Made beating those guys that much more sweet.

Was great to see these guys win a game against a team that took away some of our strengths and played probably their best game of the season. We have shown time and again that we have multiple guys who can step up on any given day. And, this is a fun bunch of guys to root for. I love this team!

Go Hoos!!!

I think that’s a great summary of this team. We’re just inconsistent: We can be very good and we can be very bad, and we’re often both in the same game. I mean, every team has its ups and downs, but it seems like our swings are dramatic. Our weaknesses are real and hard to ignore. Fortunately, though, the very good has been better and has lasted longer than the very bad.

I give Odom a lot of credit for that. He’s a terrific coach. We argue here a lot about minutes, but I think he’s been really good about figuring out game-to-game what’s working and what’s not, and adjusting his rotation appropriately.

This. Couldn’t agree more.

Guys, we are on track to make S16 in the Natty in Odom’s first year as our new head coach, and we’re knocking on the door of Top Ten ranking…we’ll definitely move up again come tomorrow. The season is going GREAT, I’ve watched every game and it feels like 2017/2018 again. Come Monday Duke may be ranked #1 and we’ll get to play them in Cameron and try to take them down for a MAJOR NATIONAL STORY. Team is so fun to watch, especially our BENCH MOB. I love this team. GO HOOS!!!

Oh yeah. One of the early comparisons a few of us made here was comparing Odoms opportunity to come in and rebuild the roster + reset the program to the footing it belongs to what Pat Kelsey was able to do for Louisville…

We were never as bad as Louisville before either coach was hired. And so far Odom has met/slightly exceeded Kelsey’s team last year. Hopefully we fully exceed the cards tournament run!!

I understand the Tony Bennett signature is filled with all those other signatures but I haven’t seen a picture of that. Has anyone got a link to a closeup image?

Great day yesterday. My only complaint is that Jay Huff didn’t play enough.

So they’re not actually signatures from my understanding they’re just printed names. Chance said he was reading them during the game in his post game interview :joy:

Except for not playing Gertrude obviously.

I said anyone calling for him to lose his minutes, as in not play at all, which plenty of people were doing in the game thread.

Obviously if he’s not playing well and Jacari and Sam are having great games, he’ll play less down the stretch. Reading comprehension is a good skill to have.

To be fair, Ryan Odom and UVA basketball were one of the biggest stories at the end of the 2017-18 season. :person_shrugging:

For once I’ll disagree - he finally has a coach Hoo is playing him a lot!!!
averaging 20 min per game and #1 in the league in blocks per 36 minutes .
Double figure scoring in 8 of his last 10 games.
lol - I took the bait!

What do you do if the way that fans root is by telling other fans how to root. Do you ban them? A paradox.

On the one hand, Jay Huff is playing a lot and playing well.

On the other hand, he plays for the Indiana Pacers and…
