He would have been our best player. You take that chance. Maybe we end up worse, but our ceiling is significantly lower because of that decision.
Iād have been fine with another choice. Hall just sucks both on offense and especially on defense against the best competition. Maybe if you had really incredible defensive pieces around him that doesnāt matter as much, but unfortunately we dont have that.
Did Odom tell Miles to leave? Or did he want to be spoon fed a starting spot, so he left on his own? Iām assuming that was likely also the case at the other spots before he found his 4th school in 3 weeks.
If you care about having a program standard, you donāt cater to guys like Miles, who clearly didnāt want to have to compete for a starting spot. Letting guys like that dictate what you do as a coach is not a good move.
And again, I havenāt heard anything leading me to believe Odom asked Miles to leave. Miles either didnāt want to work for a spot or got butt hurt that we brought in another good player. He can take a hike.
Jury is still out on whether or not heāll be able to play like this against more athletic teams, or if heāll be able to stick defensively, but overall I do really like his offense in theory. Handles the ball well enough, good passer, great shooter. Also needs to be on the floor at the end of games with his FT shooting lol.
Malik Thomas is not the guy I thought we were getting when I heard āelite scorerā
I thought that meant a guy who would have his way with an opponent like this, not a guy who ends up on the floor a lot after throwing up wild shots on a drive that didnāt really work
