We just gonna ignore the top line in that graphic? :face_vomiting:

Preston Willett said he saw Sam getting checked out by the trainer and his second half (mostly) absence might have been precautionary.

We’ll see how it goes but something has Odom pretty committed to this five early on. I wonder if it’s based more on theory or if Sam has popped in practice.

Ah good catch. I think Lewis has been kinda booty early on, but the outline of a 3-and-D wing is certainly there (assuming he shows forward progress on the D part). I worry that I’ve seen more echoes of his defense at Toledo than I was hoping for.

He can make a lot of progress on the defensive side - but he’s about where I’d expected at this point. Shown some flashes, can affect a play even when beaten, still out of position too often.

He just looks nervous and timid on offense, though. It feels like he doesn’t trust himself to dribble and is even rushing his shot.

Confidence and reps on offense will go a long way for him I think.

I still don’t mind Lewis starting, if we’re going to push and go for 3’s having a potential elite spot up guy in doesn’t hurt. I also like the spark White gets to bring off the bench.

I’m more interested in Grünloh starting. I like his game but worry the transition to college ball will catch him eating a ton of fouls. Maybe better to limit that some by checking in a few minutes in? We’ll see how it goes.

Everyone keep in my too these are just from the game notes, no actual guarantee of anything here they’re about 50/50 on being correct truthfully probably more likely to be incorrect…

If this were posted on a website I’d think they left off Gertrude just to get rage clicks lol. From the exhibitions, it sure looks like Carrere is the 11th man in the rotation. And that the rotation may eventually tighten to 10.

Reason no1 ill never fully accept the Odom hiring

It’s been well documented how careful the staff is being with him. Maybe there has been a slight set back.

I always wanted to be a ā€œit’s not who starts, it’s who finishesā€ guy.

So without further ado:

It’s not who starts, it’s who finishes.

But seriously, by playing ten, the starters are slightly less impactful. Plus I suspect we’ll actually see 15 in this one

Not sure about Elijah. My instinct is that it’s not meaningful. But also my instinct is that I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s recovery related. So :man_shrugging:

Let Lewis get some live reps against cupcakes and if he isn’t what we need give Jacari the spot by the time we play the real competition

For real. We just threw the guy into starting minutes against two good programs in exhibitions. And we’re making a lot of judgments based on those performances. Let’s see him get his feet wet against some cupcakes and go from there. He seemingly won the job out of Camp so clearly he’s showing something unless they just really want Jacari to come off the bench.

Yes. Yes we are. Because everyone else will bring it up 24/7.

24/7… forever. We wouldn’t have escaped it with a different coach, but with Odom as coach…

Did you know Mike London used to be a cop

That will happen going against a true P4 wing talent in practice every day - EG

Rider is picked to finish 9th in the MAAC by the Three Man Weave crew. Best returning player is Zion Cruz, former top 100 recruit that transferred out of Depaul and went JUCO for a year.

According to 3MW they took a ton of mid range jumpers and gave up a ton of 3PA’s last season.

I like the over. That’s around where T-Rank has the total, but that’s with projecting us in the 300s in tempo. Rider is a slow team too, but I bet we get into transition more against the cupcakes.

And, in case you weren’t aware, Tony Elliott knew Chandler Morris when he was a child.

Heard we’re running blocker mover tomorrow! This should be fun to watch!

I’d expect betting lines to be pretty far off for teams with a lot of talented euros.

Also, for Syracuse, who are inexplicably 68th in KenPom. Against the spread against cupcakes.
