Agree completely on this

I’m going to be the one to say it. Nobody knows for sure what caused him to drop the redshirt. I am pretty confident that the possibility of losing a big fish to different waters was in the back of the mind of the coaches. Selfishly I’m glad it happened. He excites this old man more than any recruit since Ralph. If he can get his 3ball to 36%+ he is gone. Going to be a lot of fun watching him

See. This sums it up

Low key thankful for the RS because could have gone differently if he didn’t get PT initially due to Harris. Think it all worked out well

Let me say this though. Harris is getting a lot of hate on here but we need him. As long as he’s used correctly (and I’m weirdly confident he will be now that Gertrude is playing) then he is a definite value add.

We’ve looked roughhh without a PG on the court during Reece breaks.

You are far too negative. Always have been. I’m feeling kinda triggered by your lack of optimism.

Agreed. Dante is a very humble and thankful young man. He loves the university and appreciates the opportunity in front of him. He gives max effort all the time and is a competitor.

Try to remember these are young men before making disparaging remarks about them publicly.

Will step off the soapbox now.

Go Hoos.

Agree. In a weird sort of way, it’s like working EG into the rotation will result in Harris playing the role he should. Looking forward to his return.

Wasn’t hating. Think Gertrudes development may look different if he wasn’t getting minutes

Why does every single thread on this site ultimately devolve into an argument over redshirting?

I guess I should just be glad it didn’t devolve into an argument about Kihei.

I have a private chat on here arguing whether saurkraut or kimchee are worth your time… I’m in the “anything with cabbage is amazing” crowd… its a more compelling argument than Kihei or redshirting…

German saurkraut with the added rye seeds for the win!

Well, he should have redshirted.

I like broiling my cabbage. Slice it into rings- a little olive oil, salt, pepper, sumac. Lay it on the pan and broil for 5-6 mins to get some char. Delicious

I like picking the cabbage out of my food and scraping it off of my plate and into the trashcan when I’m done.

My son just discovered sauerkraut and he loves it.

What I’m hearing is you’re redshirting the cabbage.

Yes, because I’m hoping it’ll transfer

I don’t think many RS examples prior to the portal/free transfer rules/current G League environment are very relevant these days. Very often I’ll see this argument like it’s apples to apples and that the program’s track record with these kinds of guys is in play, but the decision to RS Dre, as one example, was a very different one then than it would be now.

Who are some players we wish we had redshirted and didn’t?
