This team might be okay if they use NIL to get better players. I’m just not sure if they’ll ever be better than 6 wins with this staff. Maybe they are but I’m skeptical.
Getting their asses kicked today will take away a lot of the goodwill I had for these coaches

It’s so infuriating that VT as a fanbase has ONE thing to hang their hat on, which is beating us consistently in football. Take that away and they have a below .500 season in the only sport they care about with an athletic department that has 0 national titles.
And we just refuse to field a competent football team and take it away from them. Frustrating beyond belief man.

Sigh. They have more TDs and INTs than we have first downs. I was hopeful, as much for evidence to build on the dream that maybe CTE really is the guy to turn things around, as for really believing it. But…
I know its early, but calling it a catastrophic start feels like an understatement.

I’ll give this staff this off-season and next year. But if they’re not dramatically better from a W/L perspective, we need to start fresh after year 3.

Sounds like boosters and administration will be ponying up money for NIL this off-season. I think this will increase urgency. Boosters won’t want to see their money go to waste. This staff will get one last shot at bringing in talent through the portal and improving HS recruiting. No bowl next year and they have to get the axe.
