🏈 Virginia vs Wake Forest, Saturday, 8 November 2025, 1900, ESPN

I hate to do it but I’ll be rooting for UNC the rest of the way in hopes that they continue their momentum and beat Duke

Still a week out, but anyone thinking of going to the Duke game? Tix on Seat Geek are pretty reasonable and WW doesn’t have an upper deck so even the “cheap” seats should be decent. Hoping for a good UVa crowd in Durham.

Was talking with a Duke guy this last weekend and he expects it to be a home crowd for us. Not sure I believe him entirely, but it was nice to hear.

They call this the Dragon surge for those in the know.

What an understatement. Would love to give them a raucous crowd and beat the brakes off of Wake. I thought we turned a small corner last weekend but just need to be more consistent. A Stanford type of win in front of a big crowd would do wonders for momentum heading into Duke and VT.

Yeah, not looking good for the ACC’s chances of getting 2 playoff teams without some upsets down the stretch. On the other hand, if Pitt beats ND and the Big 12 holds firm, I can’t imagine they take 3 Big 12 teams and 1 ACC team.

Too many variables to sketch that out by hand, but there’s some scenario probabilities on this site. 2025 ACC Football Post Season Probabilities

Yeah, I don’t want to say “don’t look at the probabilities yet” but I will say they’ll make much more sense after the next 2 weekends.

The main games that’ll impact the standings and tiebreakers the most (outside of random upsets) are us-Duke, GT-Pitt, Louisville-SMU and maybe Pitt-Miami. And Pitt-ND and GT-UGA are important OOC games with playoff implications.

We are thinking about it. Made the short trip to CH from Raleigh a couple weeks ago. If we beat WF, might be hard not to head to Durham

So we know that two of GT, Pitt, Louisville, SMU will guaranteed have at least 2 ACC losses. That leaves UVA, Duke, plus two more as potential one loss teams.

If we win our next two I assume we’re pretty much a lock to make the ACC champ game.

If we win against Wake and VT then at worst we’re in a 4 way tie for 1st. Are there scenarios in which we’d win that tiebreaker? I can’t keep track of how it works at that point.

I think if we beat Duke and either Wake or VT we’re close to a lock for the ACCCG.

I think in most scenarios that involve a 3 or 4 way tie with us, Duke and 2 other teams, we lose out, but I’m not positive and don’t want to run all those possibilities in my head right now.

I don’t need to look at any of the standings or games to know that the ACCCG will come down to a “win and in” scenario against VT.

Just how it seems to happen.

The Athletic had an ACC mailbag today, and one of the questions addressed this. Basically, it’s complicated. Like @BDragon said earlier up in the thread, Virginia just needs to keep winning.

VT would like NOTHING better than to knock us out of ACCCG and playoffs.

This would be the most UVa thing to happen, so I assume it will.

At some point, we gotta say no more of that BS. This is a new era.
