🏀 Wahoo Diaspora - 2025/26 Season (Former UVa guys chatter)

Thread for any chatter about Cofie, ARob, Rohde, iMac (already getting tired), Bliss, Dai Dai (not sure if I can keep this up), Blake, Ish, TJP, (I’m gassed), Ron it back, J-Willy, Leon Bond… and … am I missing anyone? Maybe London Johnson next year. He counts too.

@jazznutUVA if this is too much, feel free to move it.

H/t - @Hoohoohoo I forgot Fish and Warley! If you played in a Blue white scrimmage, that counts. Heck, Traudt wore our uniform overseas. Doesn’t that count for anything anymore?

Saunders. And I think Dante is still playing? (I’m exhausted)

Already forgot about the other Elijah. He’s a total blindspot for me. I’m Jason Bateman and he’s Michael cera’s GF.

Cofie with 23 and 10 in USC’s opener against Cal Poly.

ARob with a more limited 4 points, 3 steals, and 5 boards as Xavier eeked out a win against Marist, 66-62.

Would love to boomerang Cofie, but the odds seem low.

Was just thinking, didn’t there used to be a thread for former Hoos in the NCAA? We need that thread this year more than ever.

Yeah, I think we used to have a transfer tracking thread. Maybe I created a thread. Can’t remember.

I feel like Warley counts more than Duke Miles. And seems like there’s an obligation to “hate”- watch Miles this year

Still think a team this year with the core of last year’s team plus Chance and plus Gertrude and maybe another transfer or two would have been a good team and a fun team to root for. But I’m not sure it was ever possible, and that’s water under the bridge. I have no hard feelings against any of the ex-Hoos – not even Bliss (I don’t love what he did, but I understand why). I’m lukewarm about Dai Dai just because he always seemed simply a mercenary, but I’d be happy to see the other guys do well.

And, yeah, I’d consider Warley an ex-Hoo. Just like I now consider Malcolm an ex-Knick.

The Cofie 23-10 hurts my heart.

Last years team had lots of nice pieces, but no load bearing pillars. No TDR or Malik Thomas.

Good for the Big Drip separating himself from their mass of PFs. I mean, this starting lineup is positionless basketball, but everyone is a PF:

Cofie was really good against lower competition last year, got everyone’s expectations inflated. Normal for a freshman tho. So we’ll see how he produces against big boys this year.

Dante Harris is still active, starting for the Tennessee State Tigers. Scored 13 points in 20 minutes in their opener.

Is that where Nolan Smith is coaching? I’ll check…

A: yes. Smith was the assistant at Memphis last year, hence the connection I guess

Rohde and Buchanan were both horrible last night. I think Rohde might get better for Wisconsin, but Buchanan is very bad at basketball. When I think of him the past two years, the image that comes to mind is him falling on the floor…repeatedly.

But Cofie (as has been discussed) was great, and Saunders played well too.
