That other forward on Kon Knueppel’s aau team who mentioned UVA interest a while back (who plays like BVP in my mind).

Ill hesitantly add him to the spring board later.

Saw 247 was doing their superlatives in regards to the NBA All Star weekend ā€œWho would win the 3pt shooting contest/dunk contest etc.ā€.

Lil Peja was picked for 2023. Kon was picked for 2024. For the 3pt shooting contest winners for their class lol no the dunk contest

Oh it’s a huge factor. It’s really hard to get these guys out of the upper midwest. And I’ll just say the obvious, especially the white kids. Even Tyler Herro first committed to Wisconsin. How many of them from WI-MN-IA have we been in the running for over the years to get Paul Jesperson.

I think with Knueppel, he’s a bit of a cut above. That’s where our hopes rest. That I don’t think there’s any real chance at all he leaves home for any place else. I’m sure Kansas etc will get visits when they offer, but they won’t get him.

I really liked his tape. However, if he has a lot of respect for Sean Miller he may not have the character Tony looks for in a recruit…

Man you read my mind there… but I can tell you from my brief 5 minutes with him and his bro he seems to be a great kid with good head on his shoulders, as they say

Tell him we’ll give him a NIL for some fried cheese curds and he’ll feel right at home.

he said he also wants to visit Xavier so the respect must be real and not just lip service. History tells us this one is gone…

What makes people like Miller successful is that they don’t seem to be sleazeballs. An obvious sleaze isn’t going to have success. They’re good at convincing people they’re quality people.

He don’t want any part of Norwood. Not even a comparison to life in Charlottesville.

For me he oozes it from the sidelines. My guess is he and his brother are incredible selling during the interview process. I heard Archie once talking about TB and the Virginia program and the dude was sharp as all get out

Played against Sean way back in the day but dont know him at all

Sean is an absolute sleeze. You’re right he hides it well, but his guys know it. I was around him a decent amount when he was an Ast and then an HC. He can sell for sure, but anyone who’s around him also knows he’s selling. What he does do well is he will go to bat for his guys and protect them at all cost to get them on the court. Some guys need that extra leeway vs. the stricter guard rails.

That’s promising. Beating Wisconsin and Marquette is tough. I know you say Kansas won’t get him even if they were to pursue. Do you think anything changes with a Duke offer? Or do you really think it’s UVA versus Wisconsin and Marquette no matter what?

I don’t see Knueppel going to Duke, no.

Lol

They all acknowledge they would rather player for Tony than Gard, but are hoping the distance factor wins out in the end.

Beautiful. I know it’ll still be tough, but I’ll take our chances there.

This is interesting. I mean these players are playing a sport that is predominately minority dominated and *if they desire to play professionally they will be drafted all across the country, and internationally, so I still don’t fully understand this meaning? What is the bottom line?

Both the USFL and the Arena League are returning.

I hate to see other teams referencing our Redshirt situation, and yes Bond is from Wisconsin so I’m sure those guys are very tuned into his situation.

Recruits go where they’re wanted and feel comfortable. Most of the rest that gets talked about is just rationalization, for the vast majority anyway.
