Bliss has 24 points 8 assists in a win over Friends Central (DeAndre Hunter’s HS) last night
"Bliss, a 6-4 lead guard who’s recently picked up offers from Villanova, Saint Joseph’s and Xavier to add to a quickly-growing list of high-level programs, was 7-of-13 from the floor (2-4 3PT, 8-9 FT), with four rebounds and eight assists, a number that could have easily been double digits if not for a few missed layups.
He was hitting tough jumpers off the bounce, a couple spot-up 3’s, got into the lane, and made good pass after good pass, whether those were kick-outs to shooters or feeds into George’s towering frontcourt of 6-11 sophomore Luke Bevilacqua and 6-9 Xavier-bound senior Kachi Nzeh ."
Pass on Styles. He’s their 12th guy off the bench behind McKoy for a reason. Now if D’Marco Dunn or Puff Johnson enter the portal, they would be players that intrigue me.
Saw Gertrude share this on instagram. Just an old high school package clip. But man you know he shared that cause he was like “Man I wish I was hooping. Gotta be patient and all that but man I need to be on the court”.
Need @DFresh11 to stop by and watch a game or two with him, and then show him the LRA game thread live during the game to prepare him.
older brother was the Moretti on TTU (didn’t see anyone else post that but sorry if i missed it).
our title might have been a whole lot less stressful if he hadn’t happened to step on Ty’s toe after the Guy layup (pass from Braxton?) made it 65-61. Ty lost his balance, Moretti hit that 3 to cut it back to 1. if we had a stop there i think we’d have been able to run it down to ~1 min and have a shot to stretch the lead to 6 or 7.
Although we were right to get that call, I think the rule should be changed to: If you knock the ball out of a guy’s hands, it’s off you, not him, unless the ball hits some other part of his body or he reaches for it and touches it. That reflects the way such plays are called for the first 38 minutes of the game.
So lets punish the defender for making a great play? … that play was very tight … but if you watch the last 2 minutes of a lot of games and see how many plays they get wrong when they are forced to review it and overturn it… it demonstrates how bad officiating is in general throughout college basketball…
When I was an officiating observer … one of the first things I looked for was whether an official could consistently get out of bounds plays right… because if they can’t do that … how can you trust an official to accurately process violations and fouls and come out with the right call?
p.s. I was a participant in officiating camps where our games were taped as well so we could review later with the observers and instructors … had multiple times where the instructor or observer had to apologize for saying at the time that we got something wrong in the live moment… and vice versa I’m sure…
