No. You play at full strength but there is a one game suspension for the red card.
In my opinion, Balogun is pretty critical for success the next round.
It’s like playing without TDR available for the next game. The next guy up is Tillis.

Cackling at Gio being the “see the game out” sub. Probably the right energy for the moment (going to provoke at least 2 Bosnia players)
Weston McKennie has been the biggest, baddest dog in this game and tournament.
Tillman is such a saucy player. Nonchalant but in a good way
Incredible defense these last several minutes
Some scary shots but also Bosnia shooting from outside of the box seems great for us
That’s it! Woot!
Pepi, time to step up!
We need some ncaa player eligibility lawyers in a court for balogun asap
We can appeal the red. Not optimistic about the odds given that wasn’t a correct review to begin with. When the refs aren’t following the rules in the game can’t reasonably hope FIFA follows an objective appeal process
The full play brings better context into it, it was a contested ball not like Bosnia was in possession.
We have been doing slow motion replay for decades at this point and people still don’t understand contact looks worse in slomo than in real speed.
You cav still appeal… which they will I’m sure… but i don’t think he’ll be allowed to play.
It can be longer for VC or SFP red cards… this was categorized as SFP. The Qatar player who broke the Canadian players leg got a 5 game suspension from International games. The minimum for SFP in the English Premier League is 3 games. Balugon’s World Cup could be over no matter how many games the US wins depending on the suspension .
If Balogun gets more than just Belgium then the entire officiating crew, VAR official, and Infantino should all have to survive a bout with Justin Gaetche. Or fight multiple Americans at once. And I’m not joking. The lack of fairness would only be fixable with fist fights
Would become appealable if it becomes a multi-game suspension, but only would be to knock it back down to one game:
I think if the Bosnian player’s ankle doesn’t bend the way it does, this isn’t a red card. But it does and it makes it look worse on replay.
It doesn’t meet the criteria for a red card. Complete BS. The suggestion it could be more than one game is an affront to sports
All of this arbitrary bullshit, leading up to now the biggest home game in the history of US soccer, is why the average American sports fan hates soccer.
What’s ironic about the US celebrating with Country Roads is that John Denver and the song’s writers had never even been to the US and the imagery and references from the song are entirely about Bosnia, actually.
I endorse this VAR proposal (and the other take that people like the referees intervening less)

With a million cameras at 8K resolution showing every angle at excessive framerates, officiating any major sport in today’s technology driven world will be deemed bad. It will not get better as technology will just make people think human officials can’t see a million things at once that they would have clearly seen.
