100% a guess here, but I think Tony’s a pretty stand up guy and knew he couldn’t “prioritize” both he and Keels at the big guard spot. Would’ve gotten exposed if we had live periods and you can’t tarnish that gleaming TB rep
I mean let’s not try and think too deeply about this. We can read into interviews all we want but it could also be that UVa wasn’t a big player in his recruitment by his own decision. He simply could have preferred Duke and MSU - we’re not gonna win every recruit
Lucas Taylor I assume is one of the reasons UVA is tuned in. First time his team has played this summer.

Who does Lucas Taylor play for?
Garner Road
That’s how I see it. For a long time we weren’t even mentioned with him. We became a player late in his recruitment. In fact Duke had a lot of crystal ball picks for Christie for a long time. I never really seen us as a major player. Different players like different schools for different reasons. On to the next guy
Hmm, Garner Road you say
Villanova board is making a big deal out of this IG post. I have to admit I’m increasingly pessimistic about our chances of landing Keels but I base that on nothing other than potentially frivolous tidbits like this.
Nah… this is just 2JAT watching for the pot to boil in my opinion.
Agreed, though Id certainly feel better if that was Morsell he was working out with.
Man is the master troll. Could be something but my money is on him trolling
When talking about the virtual visits I feel like 90% was UVAs. Lol
I mean the weakness, the film study, the specific plays and utilization…
And now for something completely different: I just read an interview with Cabeb Houstan’s father. He insinuated that Houstan might re-classify to 2021 later this summer (as he is already 17 years old, does this mean he was originally in 2021?). There doesn’t appear to be a rush to get to the NBA, but, rather, to push his development along. So… If Houstan gets thrown into the mix, is UVa a legitimate consideration? Or, is Duke a forgone conclusion? How does this impact Keels, Warley, et al.? Any thoughts? Or, should I have posted this in the 2022 thread? I have so many questions!
Yeah. Top Canadian players do this all the time, the fake reclass backwards. I don’t know why. Maybe just to limit contact from college coaches longer.
It’s just starting. He might end up waiting until Spring. UVA is legitimately trying. I doubt they’ll have much luck. I don’t know a thing about Houstan or his family but just the fact that he’s associated with the UPLAY program leads me to expect he’ll go about it in a similar way of other top players they’ve had, RJ Barrett and Andrew Nembhard. Career decision, all about getting to the NBA asap. Jabri and Trey Murphy will probably deter him from seriously considering UVA. He’s really more of a combo forward, not a guard exactly. Wouldn’t have anything to do with Keels etc.
Assuming this means Michigan is out on Keels.
Doubt it. Its going to be a 6-7 man class for Michigan. They will still try to recruit Keels as much as they can.
This affect Warley more
I been saying for months stop worrying about keels. I hope all of yall that allowed the Villanova board tu drive yall crazy is now walking back their keels committing talk now. I stop reading this thread because of the keel antics and yall going insane over posters, Twitter, Instagram etc. I continue tu say, we are in a great spot. My last post about keels.
I was thinking the same thing actually. I figure this probably helps our chances with Warley more and, by extension, Keels.
Appreciate the insight Tu, I’ll also give you props on calling Max Christie’s commitment. Tu said Michigan St. was the move like a month or two ago.
