Coming up shortly on Youtube. Will also post audio as well.
If the doomsday scenario happens and thereās no 20-21 season, hows that impact recruiting? You figure the NCAA gives everyone another year of eligibility, but then what do you do about scholarship limits? Or if thereās no football or basketball for a whole season, every school is going to be broke, so maybe they canāt even afford extra scholarships. Would Huff and/or Hauser want to come back? Thatāll be some bare bones NBA draft though. Presume any top 15-20 recruit declares, but youāll still have massive logjams at almost every school. I feel really bad for both the 20s and 21s.
If the 2021 season is gone, Jay Huff, Sam Hauser, and Woldetensae are gone. They will land somewhere professionally.

This may be 2JAT, but looks like Keels is heading to Ohio State to play football based on his workout partner yesterday.
The. Pot. Wonāt. Boil! LOL!
Am I crazy or didnāt Joe Burrow go #1?
Donāt get bogged down by the details of reality and fact.
Itās 2JAT⦠you can say whatever you want!
@Uvajay2 details, details ![]()
āTopā 8 of course implies heās open to newcomers.
Very quick recon on Brizziā¦Heās not closing the window entirely but this might be at best a last call.
Itās just a messed up situation for kids in his spot, never having a real chance to show out for all the coaches. I think heās feeling pressure from Villanova now. They have three PG targets, all of which they seem to be the favorite for.
Hat tip to @Mikeysurf for posting this Trey Kaufman article on twitter.
What would the arguments be for not going after Brizzi? Too similar to current players/commits? May scare off a target (I know most top AAU prospects donāt really care, but we are competing at margins rn)? Is there a hole in his game? Impacts on 2022?
Spacing and lack of opportunity. They know they can only realistically sell a chance to play right away to one guard. To keep with spacing the ārolesā they ideally want that player to be the big Brogdon style guard. Now if they were sure they were getting Trevor Keels, Brizzi might be an easier call. But he would hurt their chances with someone like Lucas Taylor. To them Brizzi is a '22 recruit basically. He has to be worth the potential complications now and the player theyāll miss out on the following year.
All that said, if they liked him enough theyād still go for it. Recruiting under TB is very complicatedā¦until TB himself likes a player enough to not care lol
Tbh, as much as I like Brizzi, I just donāt think heās as good as Keels or Warley.
Is Nova really pushing for Brizzi? I know theyāll take multiple guards⦠Do they want him to shut it down, or do they have another target and this is his last chance to take a spot at Nova?
Was hoping heād push to spring and hopefully by then TB has evaluated him fully, and there is more clarity on keels/warley, but if heās getting pressured he may shut it down soon.
Villanova is recruiting three point guards. Brizzi, Stevie Mitchell, and Rahsool Diggins. Theyāll get one. If they were forced to pick today, I think theyād all say Nova. Tomorrow the NCAA will probably rule out September visits. So itās not hard to understand those guys wanting to get a clear picture of their options. I also think Brizzi is the guy Jay Wright prefers. They had a perfect stealth operation ruined by the dead period.
Heās kind of in the same spot with Michigan. I doubt they can get him with Jalen Warley.
Sochan mentions regular contact with UVA among others.
Thereās only room for 13 scholarship players. Virginia cannot sign every good player in the region. As it is, the roster is stocked. In the fall of 2021, presumably Clark, Beekman, Morsell, Stattman, McCorkle, and Abdur-Rahim will all be returning. Thatās a very nice ensemble of perimeter players, and it doesnāt even take into consideration the various ways in which McKoy may be utilized. I doubt if there would be that many chances for Brizzi to see the floor. On the other hand, Keels (and, maybe, Warley, however remote the possibility) would arrive with some skill sets which would allow them more opportunities for playing time. At any rate, Virginiaās depth in the back court does give Coach Bennett the freedom to āswing for the fencesā, so to speak. I donāt think itās critical for UVa to sign a perimeter player this cycle, so, if theyāre going to do so, pursue someone uniquely spectacular. At least, thatās my uninformed view.
Im in the gym with people and they are saying, if UVA offer Brizzi, UVA would become a top option for Brizzi. They are just not sure UVA plan tu offer because of their confidence with Keels and The skill set of Carson. Free Tip for yall.
I see it as the same situation as Carter Whitt. If they donāt redshirt they are 3rd string at both PG & 2G their 1st year. Keels has the size to also play SF. Save PG for 22 when Clark is gone.
