I know you’re asking @Hooandtrue as it’s his dream and he knows and follows the behind the scenes stuff way, way more than anyone else here. I agree with him that a coaching change would be bad for “our chances” unless Kentucky hired Ronald McDonald as their next coach. But I disagree that things can get bad enough with Cal for him to decommit. Anyone with half a brain knows he doesn’t develop players and in fact will play underperforming stars over deserving players so that they can showcase their skills for draft position.
Reed and his peeps knew that going in and they still chose Kentucky. Because Kentucky is the draw for Reed. Not a coach, a hated Cal or otherwise.

Also he can’t technically decommit unless Cal leaves right? Sheppard signed his NLI in November.

I thought the consensus was that Sheppard picked Kentucky DESPITE Cal, because the family didn’t like him that much.

I will say, I hope Kentucky continues to struggle next year and I want to see Reed have to live with his poor choice, but it won’t be personal in any way because i understand his unique situation given his parent’s status in Kentucky basketball history. I get it.
But if duke struggles or continues to be…meh…next year, I am very much going to enjoy knowing their Napoleon Dynamite looking freshman may be learning first-hand the charade that duke basketball and the brotherhood really is. I’ll enjoy the hell outta that.

Correction! I think that if Cal sucks AND UVa wins a championship or gets to the Final Four with iMac at the helm then that would speak volumes for us, and that may be the *only chance we would get with him.

We need Cal to stay and for it to get super toxic between Kentucky and its fans. (not making the tournament/losing in the first round in a blow out).

That was my understanding also. Reed’s parents don’t think very highly of Cal and he still went there..I’m not worried about Reed. I just want to see TJP bomb out at Duke

This Tennessee Kentucky game is uuuugly. The refs have lost control. No sympathy for Kentucky but refs are screwing them here. Tennessee also making their way up my unlikable power rankings, alongside Arizona.

I’m looking at some of these teams and the ONLY thing we are missing is a Federico Federico (Pitt), Ernest Ross (nc state) *mean rebounder/defender this year.
