TV Teddy for sure…
Lol I was just about to say this. I loved how he regulated on Roach K at times…
Watching Purdue now and noticing that Zack Edey’s movement is so controlled. Got me thinking someone recently said Purdue will lose in March when Eden gets in foul trouble. He only has 38 fouls all year before tonight. Hasn’t even had 4 fouls in a game since their fourth game back in November. That’s incredible for a high use post player. He plays position defense very well and doesn’t slap at the ball. On offense he never lowers his shoulder into an opponent because he doesn’t need to (and probably too tall). He’s so big, he just turns around and eases his defender backward.
He’s also tall
Edit: wow I just saw what he did in the press conference after their loss the other day. Damn, now I’m a zack edey fan.
I think the better framing of that concern might be “What if Edey is taken out of the game”? Maybe it’s fluke foul trouble, maybe it’s another team drawing up a very good game plan for him (we’ve often seen bigs that dominate the regular season get neutralized in the post season). I think everyone’s question is just - does Purdue have an effective plan B should plan A fail? Cause normally in the tournament, at some point plan A fails.
I think people can make an argument they do have other good options, but some are nervous about them because they’re pretty reliant on freshman guards (who are not NBA-caliber players). They’ve been awesome so far, they just don’t quite fit the profile of dudes who can themselves dominate in the post season.
I don’t know where I fall on it all, but I do think it’ll be fascinating to watch. I like Purdue and will probably be pulling for them to make the final four… but I also don’t really trust teams in the post season primarily built around a big man.
EDIT: Literally as I type this they’re winning a game in which Edey has done extremely little on the offensive end, haha.
Yeah I think he had 2 points at halftime and Purdue was up by 17. There will likely be some interesting strategies to neutralize him. We would certainly try to double him - but what was so effective against 6’9” Burns and NC State might not work against 7’4” Edey. He can see over everyone, he patiently keeps the ball high, and he’s a good passer. I think if Purdue goes down it will be that the other guys aren’t hitting or the freshmen are making mistakes. Right now those freshmen are playing really well. Smith and Loyer combined for 41 points and 9 assists tonight.
Maybe you go super small? Hope you can trade twos for threes
edit: just realized the 420 headphones… it was supposed to be a “Play Traudt at the 5” hint… cause trout…
Gameday @ Auburn, rapid fire questions for the crew. Greenberg gets the “Did Ty Jerome double dribble?” Of course he says “yes,” and the crowd goes wild.
That championship trophy, floor and banner sure look good in JPJ though.
Still living in their heads rent-free
I missed it. Too busy buffing my piece of the championship floor
Just saw vols down 12 to mizzu in the second half. Mid to late season collapse for the vols?

If UVA lost on back to back buzzer beaters… man idk
This board would either be unreadable for months or finally in collective possession of the peace that comes with acceptance of the things you can’t control.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
