Watching Tenn get throttled by Kentucky, Texas win at home by 2 in OT vs 13-14 Oklahoma, and Kansas getting stomped at the half by Baylor makes me, again, appreciate underwhelming wins. They happen to everyone, a lot, and definitely beat even good losses.
3-22 Louisville and 10-16 Notre Dame arent close to those level of opponent but I do get the sentiment
Oklahoma would be a top 5 team in the ACC.
Baylor is up big at Kansas. Keyonte George is a bad dude. After Scoot and the French Ralph, I’d take him 3rd in the draft.
I’ve seen some games this year when George gets pouty when things aren’t going his way. Hard to tell if it’s just youth or part of his personality.
That worm has turned. Kansas appears to be firing on all cylinders now.
I would take Jarace Walker. Every team needs a big wing defender and he’s like Grant Williams but 19.
100% thatk8d can ball. Saw flashes of it when he brought Baylor back against the hoos. But i think he’s improved as he adjusted to college ball
I know this is petty but it makes me smile seeing Villanova at 13-13. I’ll smile more if they are 13-14 in about an hour.
Jinxed it …
Careful … may be us in a few years
What? Oklahoma is bad. No way they are better than state, Duke or Unc
They are on par with Clemson and VT
And last place in the Big 12. Meanwhile Clemson is an ACC top seed and VT a tough league out.
They’d be a middle of the pack team that could lose to any team or beat any team so tech is a good comparison
Disagree. Clemson or VT couldn’t beat Bama (which Oklahoma throttled). And most of their losses are to ranked teams.
At least on Torvik, Oklahoma is below UNC and Duke and slightly above Pitt, Wake, and Clemson. Seems to imply they’d be an upper middle-of-the-pack team. So yeah, like 4th through 7th or something seems fair.
Oklahoma is ranked 51st on Kenpom, for comparison that’s seven spots below NCST and eight spots above Pitt so it’s not farfetched to say they’d be in the top 1/3rd of the ACC.
It’s hard to judge Bama given that they’re so heavily reliant on 3’s and offensive rebounds. They absolutely throttle opponents when they’re able to hit shots from the perimeter and play their brand of basketball, but one off night and a team shooting white hot in response can lead to an ugly result. I think a team like Clemson under the right circumstances could beat them if they went cold.
Tech could absolutely beat bama at home. You’re talking about an oklahoma team that lost to sam houston state, arkansas pine bluff and south Alabama. Not to mention ooc losses to villanova and ole miss. They aren’t good overall and they’d be middle of the pack in the acc.
Surprising number of boomerang transfers:
Watching the Houston/Memphis game and one of the announcers said in a knowing insightful voice: “there really aren’t any good turnovers.”
Well, he’s not wrong.
