Thanks for posting - awesome to see some live action shots. Seems to kick his legs pretty wildly in both videos - is that his normal motion, or just him contorting to create his shot quickly?
Pretty sure it’s just different angles of same shot…
His feet and legs move a lot on most of his jump shots. Does seem like the next step in improving his jumper might be calming his legs down and having a more compact consistent motion. But I also am not even close to a shooting coach, so who knows.
More and more players been doing that it seems and not sure why. but also seems to be guys that get way up on their J
Watching his jumper reminds me some of Guy. Always seemed liked Guy’s legs were all over the place but he could square up his shoulders somehow in mid-air. Looks like McKneely has some of that same type ability. I had never noticed it until going back and watching some of his highlights.
Another part of McKneely’s game I had never really paid attention on is how well he jumps. Kid can explode off the floor.
He and Murray are very explosive athletes!
Yeah, I made the same comment a few days ago. Kyle went through a stretch his 2nd year where his legs were flailing as he rose and his % suffered. He got it fixed during his last season and we know how that turned out. Seems like a pretty easy mechanical fix for Isaac and everything else looks beautiful.
His vertical looks great. Makes it surprising his lateral quickness is not better.
He’s definitely not as quick as Guy was, but he’s probably going to end being stronger and has a slightly bigger frame. Looks kind of like he (profile says 6’3/6’4) might be somewhere in between what Guy (6’1 with elite quickness) was for us and what Harris was for us (6’6 with more strength). Just have to hope he ends up shooting as well as those guys when he gets to the college level.
McKneely is going to be better than Brogdon. He is The One. He comes to us to fulfill Jay Huff’s prophesy.
It’s sounding fairly certain that the dead period will be lifted in June. Recruits can visit. Question is if they’ll allow coaches out for live periods in July, or I guess possibly even June… At worst, should be back to full normal activity when the recruiting period opens in September.
Considering it’s looking like a lot of people should be vaccinated by then it would be dumb if they weren’t
Good to see we already have new players about to haunt Mike Brey
So he went to UCF which is surprising
Possibly to play with his brother and also likes they prioritized him from the getgo
I get that if you’re other options are other good mid majors or low end P5 programs. But if you have UVa, FSU and others poking around why commit now? UCF or similar opportunities aren’t going anywhere
Oh yeah I would definitely wait. If I was ever a recruit I would be more of a Keels than a Hendricks but Keels also has the luxury of being a higher ranked recruit who can wait. But I would definitely see what options I truly have after the summer.
Looking at 247, I’m guessing he has a twin brother who isn’t as highly ranked and also committed to UCF today. If that’s correct, that’d explain things.
Liked seeing these guys publicly responding to loss. Excited to get them in Charlottesville over the next couple of years.
