Oh wow never realised that. Yes Mullen a smooth lefty from NJ right? Chris Mullen was never leaving NY area and St Johns and the Big East then was perfect for him

Just looked up his stats. Every year but his 3rd he started most every game and was a 7 point per game guy. Wonder what changed his 3rd year where his starts, minutes, and points were way down

TIm Mullen I mean

Ralph was gone…

In the ESPN 30/30 about the rise/fall of the Big East, Mullin talks about UVa recruiting him. Beautiful campus, loved it, but just couldn’t see himself leaving NYC. Was from either Queens or Brooklyn originally.

I guess it was log jam at guard position with Othell Ricky and Carlisle. Minutes down from 20 ish to 12. Just stuck out to me looking him up

Awesome! Best is the hat tip to Hondo, including the post-game interview clip sporting a bloody lip.

Fresh was curious on why Tim Mullet’s stats were down his third year, i said Ralph was gone, meaning he moved on and he didn’t get those open looks his first two years

Its amazing asking guys around Mullins age who they looked up to/ patterned their games after. So many say John Havlicek

One ACC Tourney we were out to dinner and Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas and young Dennis Rodman were at the same place. 1990. They came up to Mr Havlicek literally in awe to see him etc. Rodman refused to look at him, he was shaking and said ā€œIsiah, is this who I think it is? Cause I am not worthyā€.

Amazing to see cause I was like yea man thats Chris’s dad hahah

If I’m not mistaken fresh Hondo’s stats and Mj’s very very similar?

Yessir. Mr Havlicek put up astonishing numbers over a long long career. Was crazy when I started looking at it all. As a Life long Lakers guy since Magic in 1980 I had no appreciation of Celtic greatness. Man has that changed

Edit : I guess MJ scored more, of course, but still similar

That was the best of the NBA in those days. Great players and great rivalries. Of course im just a biased old man but i enjoyed it a lot more back in those days
