Amazing thing is that Havlicek was a sixth man for most of his career. He and Bill Bradley used to have great battles when the Knicks and Celtics played.
For me the 60s-90s were the Golden Age of the NBA. Celtics. Lakers, Pistons, Bulls…what great rivalries.
I find the NBA mostly unwatchable these days.
Many argue that the players today are superior athletes. I say watch a few clips of Earl the Pearl, Clyde Frazier, Wes Unseld, George Gervin…I could go on and on…and tell me these guys couldn’t compete in today’s game.
I am with you. I think in terms of athleticism now the difference is 99percent of the players are freak athletes. Buf back in the day the real players and athletes would dominate now… to your list of players
@Hooscrazy , You sure aint crazy. I loved them games back then. Someone was talking about the Lakers and Celtics. Bird and Magic put on some great shows too
Oh man @Hooandtrue your Nigerian Mamadi committed to Mt. St. Mary’s. He’s rough but that is a steal.
He’ll get $400K in the portal 2 years from now. 7’1 wingspan, solid athlete, and can shoot open 3s. I think he didn’t benefit from the portal right off the bat since coaches at Power 5 schools aren’t wasting time at non-shoe events unless its for a known commodity like Xavier Booker.
Clip of Cameron Carr on instagram.
6’4 with a 7 foot wingspan. Production was okay this summer. @Richan34 likes him. I could talk myself into him more than GW3 based on potential.
Recruitment right now is Northwestern vs Kansas State battle. Kansas State being the home team. Was on that Mokan team that won Peach Jam. Also plays at Link Academy that was in the championship game of Geico HS nationals (lost to Montverde).
Carr could be a nice underrated pickup. I think he could play the 2 or 3 with his wingspan and could provide solid shooting and backup ball handling
I believe @Richan34 posted this in a VIP thread a while back too.
if he’s 6’5 seems like a pretty easy call if they are insistent on another guard in 23.
If Max likes him, I like him. He was big on Reece before a lot of others realized how good he is.
Yo CTB! Way to validate my for talent (JJ)
He’s a 3 star right (not that it matters)? I feel like there are so many niche rankings services now that anybody can be a 4 star. You’d think he would have already committed to the home team by now since they’ve been his best offer all along, so maybe he’s been waiting for something better? Curious if TB offers.
Tony when he finds an unheralded recruit in the Fall:
I don’t really see the fit unless he can run point ~10 mpg his first year. Maybe he can, but seems a bit of a stretch since he’s not a traditional PG type. Otherwise he’s got a long line ahead of him at the 2/3 spot.
“still growing”
I mean whatever CTB likes at this point , but he’s not a combo at all. Thought anyone at this point would have to have some pg ability.
