Top 4 seeds go to the top 4 conference champs, and given that there are only 4 P5 conferences, it’d be hard for the ACC champ to not get a top 4 seed.
Sure, if the ACC champ would be considered as such.

FSU — on the rise — good
Clemson — dipping. Is Dabo looking around?
Louisville — we’ll see
NC State — historically inconsistent, and insignificant
Miami — don’t think Cristobal has it
Carolina — Mack is too old, consistently do less with more
Pitt — yeah, no
GT — one great year every decade
VPI — will take years to rebuild what Fuente destroyed
UVa — doesn’t give a crap
BC — doesn’t give a crap
Wake — early Clawson luster gone
Duke — forever losing up-and-coming coaches, or hiring bad ones (or old ones)
Cuse — shitshow
SMU — might add some value in the short term
Cal — terrible
Stanford — terrible, but has great runs from time-to-time

Well if FSU as the ACC champ can’t finish ahead of the likes of Liberty, Tulane, JMU, the MAC and MWC and CUSA champs, that’s on them, not the ACC.

Eh. He’s taking up for his team, as any good leader should. But the truth is, the roster doesn’t match up well with any of those teams - because he’s not healthy. They’re no longer one of the four best teams. If they had to play any one of the teams in the CFP they’d lose by three TDs.
If only there were some way to find out…

College basketball clears college football and it’s not even close imo. Let’s say we were tech fans and only really cared about football. That means you’re caring about a sport that you’ll never win a title in. Playing 3/4 to like 4/5 of your games against mediocre competition and cupcakes. Best case season is you win a conference title, but even if all the stars aligned and you somehow went undefeated, you arent even guaranteed a shot at the playoffs. And even if you somehow did (tech and UVa never will I would bet my life on it), you’re getting absolutely steamrolled by Alabama or Georgia.
Recruiting is less fun to follow, games are less frequent, no March madness, NIL skews results way more heavily in favor of the powerhouses, ACC is awful in football, the list goes on and on.

But that is just your opinion. It may be right, but it is not provable. The only factual thing is that FSU won all of the games on their schedule and are an undefeated P5 champ. Everything else is prognostication. A 16 had also never beat 1 until they did. Just assuming something will happen and denying a team because of it is wrong.

Well at least next year, after decades of waiting, college football will finally have an actual champion. Crazy it took 150 years

All of these teams lost to playoff teams by 7 points or less in November.

I think it’s telling that the best argument for FSU beating a playoff team is that other mediocre to good teams almost beat playoff teams. Not that FSU is just as good as the other teams

It’ll be fixed next season. Anyone that is the best and deserving will be in.
The CFP is picked based on opinions. Only next year will it be fixed with the expanded field.
I just think it’s wrong. I get it, but don’t agree with it. If this is the way we’re doing it, why not just pick the four teams with the best Vegas odds of winning the championship? Why bother with looking at their resumes?
Teams in all sports make the post season with injuries all the time and then they sink or swim. This is seemingly the only sport where we have a system dumb enough to ignore what actually happened on the field in favor of some dudes’ eye tests and internal biases.

But that’s not the best argument for them being in the field. That’s strawmanning. The best argument for them being in the field is they went undefeated, beat multiple SEC teams in the non-con, and won the championship of a P5 conference. Also, Alabama literally already lost to a team in the playoff field.
